XSPC X2O Delta CPU V2 Pressure Drop Results

The good folks at XSPC also provide me with a sample of their V2 CPU block for pressure drop testing.

If you want the full meal deal with more pictures, I have dedicated page made up here:
    http://www.martinsliquidlab.com/XSPC...ta-CPU-V2.html

Or if you just want the results:

    The block:

Testing, note I have my NEW manometer (Another Dwyer, but the 477 model Mark V), I can now test up to 20.00 PSI..

    And the comparative results:

The block has a very nice and low pressure drop. This suprised me a little bit, I expected it to be more similar to an Apogee GTX because of the side to side flow path, but I think because of the taller pins and larger array of pins, the flow is able to spread out more over a larger area and reduce restriction.

This would be great block for multiple block loops as well considering the nice and low pressure drop.

    Cheers!
    Martin

    Wauw!

Looks at this thermal test - almost as good as the Fuzion! o_O

Love your testing Martin - Keep it up!

So what we got here is a Fuzion made by XSPC to half the price with flow as a DD TDX - insane!

    Thanks!

I should clarify though, the fuzion stock without a washer also has a very similar pressure drop.

I'll add that one in, so I don't add confusion there.

Ok, I've updated the chart to also show the Stock Fuzion results. I have both the stock fuzion and fuzion with just the washer in place included. All three blocks including the Fuzion, MC-TDX, and XSPC are extremly low restriction blocks and would do very well in multiple block loops.

Awesome! Hmm XSPC should make washer / nozzle for Delta block like D-tek makes for the fuzion!

XSPC is defiantly a watercooling company that makes really awesome stuf which they almost give away! o_O

Just saw a XSPC FC block at watercoolingshop.uk for like 45 £

The other thing I've been wondering about is how well the block does on a TEC. It would almost cover a 40mm TEC with the base. Here is a quick sketup of that.

You would still need a cold plate, but with the larger cooling area (actual pins covering that area), it would probably do pretty well on a TEC as well.

Martin, how wide are the holes on the barb mounts? Would you be able to get Bitspower fittings on there?

I don't have any of those barbs handy right now, but the center to center spacing is 31.6mm. That's quite a bit wider than my TDX (23.7mm spacing)which I've seen pictures of with those barbs on there.

So...I'm pretty sure you have plenty of room here for the compression fittings as needed.

Wow, looks like I might get this block for my next thing

Martin, is some type of backplate included? If not, will maybe a Thermalright one work?

Nope, no backplate (Pretty standard anymore), but any backplate that fits your motherboard should work. It has nice large holes in the mounting plate to accept larger studs as needed, they do come with some nice heavy duty studs and the other hardware though.

I've had this same scythe backplate on my 680i for a long time now, works great for all the blocks I've tinkered with.

At least you don't have to worry about the block leaking being a sealed unit.

wow what an impressive lineup from them, I just ordered the fuzion but now I'm waiting on retailers to get these blocks in stock, and the spacing for bitspower fittings is a bonus I wonder if theres any chance of ncix becoming an xspc distributor.

I appologize to you martin for dragging you in into that dark ally with me known as TEC lane.
Looks like you still see some light in TECs.

How badly would the chrome tops react with a loop just using deionized water with no additives as the top is in direct contact with the base via the press fit ?

The chroming won't cause issues. It's aluminium we must take care.

Anyway, it looks like it's nickel plated, not chromed.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Still, don't worry about the chroming causing galvanic corrosion.

    .
The chipset block has 1mm pins where the CPU has 0,6mm.
So it's not 100 % the same, but it will still give you more than enough cooling for any chipset.

Yeah, a little bitten by the TEC bug, it's another "Tool" in the old toolbox, will have to explore it some more.

There are alot of barbs Bitspower, EK, DD, that are now chromed too, and lead or tin solder in everyones home copper has a similar anodic index, so if there was any real problem with it, it would have happend in the plain water sitting under your house.

And as far as the V1 vs V2, you'd have to ask the vendor, but I belive it's all V2's out there right now.

Here are some photos they sent me to help explain the difference:

They have added another set of interior flow spreaders, sort of similar to the Swiftech MCW-60 that just allows a more even distribution of flow through the pins.

I just got this block today in the mail, I like the weight of it, solid.
    2 questions:
1)Can you post a picture of your base? I'm not too impressed with the bottom as it's covered in micro scratches and not exactly mirror finished like I assumed it would be.

    2) Do you have a pic of the inside of a V2? I'm curious to figure out which version I just picked up. . . edit: I have V2-forget this question

    cheers.
