Wow man that radbase is great!

I've got mine mounted vertically, but that's so much sweeter looking! A+ work man.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein ! I used to play that a lot, I played in league play and made it up to cal-invite... those were the days. Oh yeah, and awesome job with the case

OK boys and girls! Here is the final final build 3 & 4 mega post! Build 3 is changing to a slot loading DVDRW. Build 4 adds taller blue feet for airflow to the PS, a blue CCFL, lots more blue fans.

Hey Noogie! I bought an extra case.. it was cheaper than buying spares.. Try http://www.antec.com/Search.bok?category=Spare+Parts. You can't run any 5.25 optical drives if you add another interior fan. Heck, I have another windowed side panel. I should dress up the side wiring.. CO standards? Maybe even NEBs compliant lol. A few more blue lights on that side too! jk.

hitek420 - heh.. I am still in a RTCW clan OW|Sailrabbit. There are a few left. The last league we played was I think BANI. They are playing ETQW mostly now. I had to build a new gamer lol.

edit- Druid that is a very cool rad base you made. Keep posting progress!

Cyberdruid, very nice work. Looks great.

I have mine all put together, but since I am still missing a couple of parts, I haven't gone full tidy wires on it yet. I will very soon though.

    Ok... For all of those of you that have done the slim line drive in the bottom of the front panel;

Please post a brand/model# of the unit you used? After reading this thread again, I've decided this is something I simply must do.

Also, for the 3 drive cage users, did you all order the cages directly from Antec? They have them for around $20, but I was wondering if this is the bare cage, cage with fan, etc? Please elaborate? TIA.

The slimline mod is the coolest. I gotta try that.

I used the Pioneer DVR-K06 Slim/Slot DVD Burner, from Newegg.com. Info on this mod can be seen here. ($69.99 + shipping)

To connect this drive, I used a slim ATAPI to SATA Converter (or you can get the USB 2.0 converter). ($24.99 + shipping)

For an extra hard drive cage, you can order one from Antec.com here. I do not know what they come with. ($19.95 + shipping)

    I went a bit stylish and went with 3 Silverstone CFP51-B's, from Newegg.com. ($45.99 + shipping)

You can get DIY SATA EZ Crimp Connectors from FrozenCPU.com. They are sold out of the black ones from Performance-PCs.com.

Also, you can get Rubber Fan/Window molding from FrozenCPU.com as well, to save on shipping.

    Cool More modded

Well my friends, last weekend I also re-did my 900

This is how it was... (with my old PSU):

Sorry for the bad quality (mobile photo with an unsteady hand )

I got me a box of these:

I cut some pieces to fit the 900:

    Some pre-fitting:

Also relocated my extra USB ports and did the 'upside down PSU trick':

Which results in the following (with PSU installed):

    Inside with PSU:

    Total overview with all installed:

    Also the 'backward drive' trick:

But I still have to do some cable management

    Front (with slim-line DVD burner):

    Whadda ya think ? ? ?

That USB trick is freakin' awesome. I've always wondered how I could hide those USB cables. This way they're hidden behind the PSU. That's something I'm gonna have to remember.

    Great job

Hey. Been watching this thread for about a year but due to a problem with my account I have only got registered now. Anyway all those mods look great.

So far the only thing I've done to my case is replace the blue antec fans with orange custom-modded led yate loon fans which look superb!

I'm planning a few mods. Would love to do the slimline DVD-RW one but I'm not sure about that as I'd like to keep to sata and then you need a converter and stuff.

One thing I'd like to ask is about the PSU mod. I'd like to mount my PSU the right way up. Would I need to buy new feet to give enough clearance so air can be sucked into my Corsair 520hx PSU? I bought a fan filter so hopefully no dust will get sucked in.

    Keep up the good work.

I went with Logisys LED feet, which raise the case about 3/4" -- plenty of room for the PSU to breathe. I have that same PSU BTW, of course, unbadged and carbon fiber'd.

Nice, clean work. How does your case sound after dampening it vs. stock?

wasup, what you think of the position 2 for a cooler ?

i'm using a TRUE with aerocool turbines , but i want to put the side panel fan , but using the position 1, it runs into heatpipes of the cooler , it will work in the position 2 ? i really don't want to change cooler , my second option is change the TRUE for a TR-128

    Cool

    Hi guys,
    thanx for all the thumbs
@ Moe_Szyslak: happy to give you (some) idea(s)

@ Will & VooDooRoo: hardly any improvement
(be fair: if you want silence, buy another case. With these fans and 'open' sidepanel, it is hardly going to get silent )
That wasn't my intention to begin with tho.
My objective was to 'darken' the inside without painting it (my painting skills aren't that great ) and also try something that wasn't posted here (originality)
Cutting was done with a stanley (and a lot of patience) and the backside is adhesive, so glues itself. My case is a few pounds heavier now tho, since the adhesive layer of that absorber kit is made of bitumen
