looking good! gonna be a killer build!
Lookin' REALLY good!
3 DVD drives seems sorta overkill to me :P
ROFL savage, I've done all I can with todays delivery need more hardware now.
As for 3x dvd burners read my first post this is a duality build two are for the new work station one is for the server for redundant backups. and at $30/ea they were a steal. Only replacing my existing DVD,s from the server for appearance and due to the fact that the servers current two are SCSI and I'm migrating the server over to SATA.. Not to mention they are nearly 8 years old now.

Right pump bottom left corner you'll see the connector. If you look closly at the 4 pin molex you will see where I extended the sleeving to the 3pin connector.
Bah looking at it again it's still a bit hard to see that so here's another pic

ahhhh, do u need to connect those for the fan to work? or is it only a RPm sensor?
I believe just an RPM sensor, IE connect to CPU fan header for basic system protection. Don't quote me on that I could be wrong.

Issues, I intended to mount my HDD's next to the 120.2 rad. As you can see this will not fit the MM caseNew order just placed with mountain mods for an additional 120.3 to correct the look of the front panel. Now to find a 120.3 shroud in stock again sigh...
new HDD mounting location. (Between the MB trays will require a slight mod to the trays)
Expanded view
Issue #2 it appears the rear panel of my case is missing a rivet nut. I'll have to contact MM on Monday to see what needs to be done to correct this.
Thats all for now going to take a nap![]()

I also need to find a solution to bridge the gap btwn the two 3870X2's for plumbing any ideas? The regular barbs are way too long and from the looks of it the short barbs will be a bit long as well. Any hard pipe or other solution avail? I need some ideas here.
Thanks much
Grim

At Petra's tech shop (I think) you can get short barbs. They are probably small enough to be used between the 3870X2 cards (don't quote me on this).
That is a corner of the case and I'm currently using the thumbscrews sent with the case till I find better ones. The issue with with corner is it does not have the rivet nut inplace to use the thumbscrew. IE no threads for the screw.

oh, that sucks man... dunno, mine all thread normally. well i havent checked the bottom panel yet, so you never know :S
I just wanted to put a big THANK YOU plug out to petras. I initially screwed up my first order and ordered 9x the wrong item. I contacted Alex and shipped the wrong item back paid the diff and the right items are on their way. I placed two more orders over the weekend and Quoc noticed it and shipped them out in the same package to reduce the shipping charges.
There's alot to be said for customer service. I was in the wrong and admited to it but Petra's was willing to work with me saving me nearly $50 in the process for my initial screwup and additional orders.
You won't find many e-tailers that are willing to work with you, for thatand thanks again Petra's I'll continue to do business with you anytime and recommend your shop to all I know.
Edit, I also wanted to thank Mountain Mods for their quick response with the Pim nut missing from my back panel. I was a bit disappointed I had to fork out $35 for a replacement, but I fully understand the industry and that only 50% ish of request like this ever send back the defective part. They also added the additional panel to my re-order for additional rad's as the 120.2 + HDD rack will not fit the standard 120.3 cutouts no matter which way I point the barbs.
to MountainMods as well
Now back to modding the case for a duality/Horizon (two system setup)
Cheers,
Grim

New parts have arrived. Ordered a 120.3 to replace the 120.2 to finish off the front look as I couldn't fit the HDD tray next to the 120.2. Ordered EK shorties for the GPU link. Made a custom bracket to support the upper MB tray. The bracket goes from front to back which also supports the front and back panels from flexing. Test fit of the Server MB will not fit the case as it's an extended ATX board. (Planned on replacing later this year anyway) Started Cable management and plumbing. Missing components still EK-SB-SMAX (Southbridge block) and DDR3 Memory (Still out of stock).
Now for the PICS (I also adjusted the white balance on my camera so no more orange pics)![]()
Case back
Front, Cut holes to provide 4x USB connections 1X FW and 2x CCFL Switches. My dremel skills need a bit of improvement, I'll either polish out the mars or just body fill them if I paint the case later on, the silver is kinda starting to grow on me.
Pump/Rez side (Still need to mount the second Rez)
Pumps (Gave up on the XSPC pump bracket's)
Upper MB tray and PSU
Other side
When the server is upgraded there will be a total of 9 HDD's in here. You can see three for the workstation in the back middle, a bracked installed for three of 4 server raid HDD's, the server OS Mirror HDD's will be mounted in the last two remaining 5.25 slots under the server DVD behind the acrylic cover. I plan on attaching a 80mm fan to the acrylic cover to provide ventalation to those HDD's. The bottom bracket was cut to fit one HDD and provide clearence for the server MB. This placement took alot of thinking to get it to all fit correctly
Upper view, that ATX connector is begging for sleeving
SATA pwr cut to length for both HDD's and DVD's (DVD Shown, forgot to take a pic of the HDD cabling prior to installing in the case.
That's it for now back to work mounting that second rez, then I think I'm going to dissamble the CPU loop, clean all the components, Fill and leak test.

Second Rez is now mounted, CPU loop is now completed. Filling/bleeding only took approx 5 mins, no bubbles except on the side of the rez. Currently leak testing the CPU loop. I'm on a plane tomorrow for a weeks work in CA. Might even get a chance to swing by Petra's while I'm out there. The build will continue when I get back from work provided the Memory and SB block are in.
Here's a quick pic

sweet build! can you take close up pics of the 2 hd3870x2 cards? im wondering what kind of fittings u used, cause with normal sized fittings i think i might have a problem with spacing.
Thanks alot![]()
