list your specs in your signature...curious to know what kind of PSU you have.

after re-reading your complaint, i mistakened it as a booting problem over a initial post (or, warm reboot) problem...if i am correct with the latter then try unhooking or unplugging hardware devices to see if that changes the delay post problem...always a good idea to take it down to ther very minimum hardware to get it to post; like one memory stick, single video card, no DVD ROM, either one or no hard drive...think about replacing or swapping IDE or SATA cables.

    Chaps,
Ive just installed my first CPU watercooling loop and would like to ask what components could you recommend for watercooling the NB and perhaps other areas of the IX38 mobo?
    Is it even worth doing?

Darthvendor have you checked your cables that they are set right? Maybe the "power on" cables from the case. Sounds really weird that it stalls for a few seconds before powering on.

The only problem that i have is on start, i have my computer stable

    cpu 10*410

darthvedor, have you tried turning it on with the built in power button. I had a case that had a bad button once and you had to press it multiple times to get the computer to boot then sometimes it would shut off like you had held the button in. worth a shot. i'd probably try with the case switch unplugged from the board too.

couldn't wait anymore the 2180 had to go. so I took Micro center up on the q6600 199.99 deal. Picked up a L737046.

lets just say i'm VERY happy. 3dmark06 jumped from 13k with the 2180, to 18.6k with the quad at 3.6.

Last night I was able to hit 3.9Ghz but didn't like the temps and it felt unstable but would do super pi 1m. I'm now i'm back down to 3.7Ghz (463 x 8) stable. and probably won't go any higher until WC. the 3.9 run was with 1.45v and the same settings as below. highly doubt after todays testing it needed that much voltage in the chip.

    current volt settings are:
    cpu core 1.33
    cpu vtt 1.25
    mch 1.40
    Ichio 1.55

opinions on voltage? everything look ok? The Ichio and cpu vtt I just bumped up alittle not even sure if I had to really. how can cpu gtlref effect it?

have you taken it down to bare knuckles; just the "VERY" bare minimums?

what cards do you have installed?...take every add-in card out and just work with one video card.

take it down to one stick of memory.

disconnect your DVD drive and try it with one drive plugged in and then without "ANY" drives.

    tell us the results.

cpuz has a memory tab that shows what Mhz the memory is running at...double that figure to find if you are near the specs.

be advised that you can not have Uguru running on the desktop at the same time you have cpuz opened...apparently they want to control the same resources, therefore, it will freeze your puter.

i presume that memory tab says 1:1?..if so, go into the bios and raise the FSB to Memory ratio to 1:1.20...that is still the 1333 mhz memory strap...the next strap jump is harder to hold at higher FSB clocks...that is 1:1.25 which is the 1066 mhz memory strap...not the same in what you want to do....the 1.1.25 ratio uses tighter latencies to improve memory system performance.

1:1.20 should give you 480 memory mhz if you are using 400 FSB.

1:1.25 should give you 500 mhz memory speed...getting close

again, best bet is trying to raise your FSB and use 1:1.20 FSB to memory ratio.

    good luck!

Thanks but is that what i want to do??? I have a processor that runs a fsb at 1066MHz and I want my memory to run at the same speed since the mobo supports it and the memory is suppose to be running at 1066FSB....would i have to increase the voltage?

With out having to read all of this very long thread, can someone tell me if official bios 12 lets you use all the multipliers with a QX9650 ?

Ok i changed it 1:2 and it's running at its correct speed now. but now it's 5-5-5-18 and the memory advertises 5-5-5-15 I also changed the volts to 2.1v as it advertises as well.

Gawd, for some reason games begun crashing on me at 3.2ghz (400x8) and above, I increased voltages a bit and same result.
It only happens with games, I can run 3.2ghz 24 hours no problem without games at 100% cpu load.
At default settings/clocks I can play games just fine without a single hitch.

    CPU is Q6600 G0
CoreTemp maxes at 50c, I got thermalright ultra-120

Just ordered one of these after cancelling an order for a Gigabyte DS5 due to horror reports with high speed ram and 4gb.

Hoping I made the right decision, the EQ fan and Uguru were what decided me on this board.

I am looking for a mild overclock of 3ghz, and ideally 3.2ghz with a B2 E6600. Could someone post me some settings, I have only ever used nVidia chipsets on intel processors haha! At the end of this month, I am looking to change to a Q9450, I am assuming this will run ok in this board?

The bios looks very confusing, so many bloody options!

Sorry for my bad spelling in my last post. Update on Komplett , They took the IP35 Pro off their list so they must not be getting it in stock again.

Anyway I got the motherboard 2 days ago but I didnt get the chance to install it yet because I am ill. I am going to attempt the install tomorrow because I am feeling pretty ok now but not fully recovered.

Need a question or two answered before hand though. is the original bios ok with the Q6600? Will the same voltages i had for my Q6600 work with this board or should I try lowering them? Is the VDroop as bad on this board as it is in the IP35 Pro?

    Angry

I am after putting the motherboard into my machine but I think the motherboard is DOA because I get no post screen with the error code 83. Ive tried everything icluding powering up with just the CPU , graphics card and CPU fan but I still get error code 83. Ive even tried powering up with just 1 stick of ram. Also when I press the power button for a few seconds and leave it go the machine turns off and back on with the GPU screaming as if it has no power. So Im back to my AMD again.

two answered before hand though. is the original bios ok with the Q6600?
    yes
vcore shouldn't be that different i think , ace might tell you that better as he's had both boards.

try Fix For General Instability & No post/Boot it's raised a few dead 'uns in the past.
