Man I love this Card! My Card runs with 820/1998/1020 on 1.19V. I think that is pretty good. Thank you guys for this nice mod.

Ahh, finally someone has the same piece of 8800GT Any good news? To be honest, I've no idea if the jumper really works as I can't measure the vGPU from the points. I currently had the jumper at 2-3 (the 2 pins closest to PCI-E connector) so does that give 1.3V? (refer pic below)

I have also removed the heatsink and changed the thermal compound to MX2, modified the fan connector so I can control via my Zalman fan controller.

Nevertheless, I'm still keen to do some vGPU and vMem mod Btw, what's the highest core/shader/mem you manage to OC?

Ok, I finally got to measure the vGPU from the following points. I previously didn't contact the ground correctly so there wasn't any reading - my bad.

I've found out that without the jumper, the vGPU is 0.85v and 1.1v then 1.25v respectively. This sucks as I don't have 1.3v!!! I tried using 2 x PCI-E and 1 x PCI-E but it doesn't help in overclocking.

I need vGPU mod desperately, lol. Someone help?

Actually I don't have the card. Been working on it "remotely". Progress so far includes some useful stuff such as a reverse vGPU mod.

I wonder if anyone else have the same card and how do I volt-mod it? It has the jumper and I've set it to what is supposed to be 1.3V but using the multi meter to get the vGPU reading also doesn't work.

It comes with Samsung RAMs so I've no idea if that is better compared to Qimonda? Someone give me a clue please

Yup I got the same card and have been working on a mod with Largon! The Samsung memory is definitely better and I got volt mod in place for it running at 2.2V at the moment which gives me a 1220Mhz OC. The problem with the GPU volt mod is that the tracing on the PCB disappears inside of the PCB so nobody knows where to solder the VR too. I'll get it done this week and solder straight to the L6712A! That should be fun.

The jumper only gives you 1.22V on my card which is enough to take it to 780Mhz. You need more juice to go for more!

Thanks HitandRun and Largon Btw, can you guys share the vMem mod?

My RAM can't run 1000Mhz as the stock cooling does not have ram sinks on them but just some rubber material (so called thermal pads) to contact between the HSF and RAM. It's probably too hot so I need to mod it a little and put ram sinks.

Thanks, you did that and it worked? Btw, where do I measure vMem? I can't seem to find a diagram of it?

I wouldn't make all the volt mods and run the stock cooler on it if you want to burn up something! I made some custom heatsinks for my card!

Metering points for memory! Red to ground will get you where you want to be!

I just use a cheap digital camera. The trick is to zoom in, and pull the camera back a bit so it can focus. Lots of ambient light helps; sunlight is best. Use a tripod or items to steady the camera and use the timer, or else your pics will be blurry. Also, I took some of my very close up picks while focusing the camera lens through a magnifying glass.

Do you fix your OC Clocks in BIOS or is it better to use River Tuner to boot up new clock?

I normally won't hard code it in the BIOS because if I'm not playing any games or pure surfing, I don't need that extra Mhz (overclock)

Just to avoid generating unnecessary heat and usage of power when not needed

riva is easier then if you overclock too far you can just turn it down... when it get stable you can set it to auto oc when you boot up...

Thank you so much to HitandRun and Largon for sharing this great vMem mod. I've done it successfully and now running with 2.15V. I'll test it out and see how well it goes. Prelimanary run with 755/1875/1030 gave around 14700 3dMark06 - not very impressive though?

Nice that it worked out for you! I'm running the mem on 2.20V @ 1220Mhz. Just finished the GPU mod as well and will test it tomorrow. I nailed the wire straight to the IC (pin # 22)! I'll post some pics tomorrow.

    Nice idea with that heatsink.

Maybe thermalright will see it and ship heatsinks like that stock with theirs!

Wow, that vGPU mod would be excellent. Thanks HitandRun and we'll be waiting for some pics and results.

I'll post some pics up of my modded cooler. The temps are alright, with about 42-43C idle @ 1.25vGPU. Load can go up to 55-56C with ATI Tool.
