Mostly QX9650 users are plagued mate... glad it worked for you, didn't at all for me I used another rom file ( bios from the thread here ) and then the rig booted with 400FSB but once I started messing with the ram to get more speed it capped out on me again... and I couldn't get it to fail safe boot... popping the battery was the only thing to bring it back a life again... back 0907 and runs fine there..

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Not necessarily. I had issues with my E8400 too.

It pretty much needed to be on AUTO for it to get past boot.

1003 was for my 8400 aswell
ALOT of tweaking to get the board to boot and when it finally did it ran very poorly.

So i will wait, and hopefully the will give 1 step increments in tRFC which is needed for 2x2GB Sticks and the marketing is toward this so it is an advise for ASUS (if someone will ever read this).

    Exclamation TRFc limited?

"And the TRFc settings are godlike @55" I Every MAXIMUS forum I read keeps complaining about TRFc limited and such. Limited where and how. I haven't noticed anything till my BAD 907 experience, and it was more then just RAM with that experience.

Are we talking about highest score #s? In what area of real world apps will one see the effect of tightening these timings so tight, especially the performance boosted level boost?

    Just curious!

I am not quiet following you but for 2x2GB sticks values beyond 42 is needed,
because someone cannot have PC8000-8500 modules working properly at default.

My boards set 45 for the Gskills as programmed on the SPD, but 0907 bios doesn't allow manual intervention... though rig runs fine at stock ram speeds 1000Mhz 5-5-5-15 2T and trfc 45...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

ok i have a new issue, i was getting my formula up and running and i was flashing bios 0907 and after EZ flash verified it, during the write process, there was a square that didnt fill in at the end, its appearance remained "hatched" but after it finished writing it checked it and the one little square showed up again as hatched. the computer ran and posted and i could get into windows but i decided to try to reflash, but this time EZ flash would read the whole bios but it wouldnt delete the last part at the end, instead it would write over the beginning and leave the small part at the end of the old bios alone, is this normal or is something corrupt? thanks

No you can manual set tRFC to 42 or lower.I have 0907 too.
The problem as i have told in previous post
is with modules that have SPD tRFC = 42 and are rated
for PC8500 2x2GB which is not good since they need 52 (2x1GB need lower
than 42 in most cases, so it is not problem for you).

SPD programmed is 45 and board sets 45 mate , no worries there, Tony suggested 2 gig dimms need 52 or higher for better clocks or running them at less volts...

@News : all my biosses have an are that isn't flashed... pretty normal.. don't forget to set defaults, reboot and then set ya stuff...

thanks leeg, lol when i saw it last night i was like crap i just screwed my new board

ive looked for this answer too, how can you check how much the board is overvolting, i read this one overvolts by 0.08 so i set my dram volts to like 2.1, i tried decreasing the timings from 5 5 5 15 to 4 4 4 12 and it posted but i couldnt get into windows, im assuming i need to tweak some other features or add a bit more volts, just want to make sure i dont fry the ram thanks

    I noticed This Too

I was wondering about this myself. I never really noticed since v0907 experience. But for me it is the 5th & 6th block to the end and it shows not hashed at each BIOS flash from then on and verifies the same. And now when I try to load previously CMOS profile saves (that belong to given BIOS version) I get the error message the cannot load BIOS ROM, boot block corrupted or not compatable. What's up with that. None of them work anymore for other BIOS versions either.

Sad but true but I base myself on the hardware monitor in the bios for that...

well i dont get any of that but then i dont try to load up old profiles, i just redo my settings. only one time did the little lcd screen show CMOS error and then it booted up fine and has worked since. must be something that 0907 does, leave one square at the end of the flash hatched (or not filled in) who knows, i might call asus tech and be like wtf, so far board is still doing fine, i like it a lot

also, this is weird, when i installed this second board into my case (cm stacker original) and the pci slots lined up with the case brackets. believe it or not my first board had slots that did NOT line up, and my cards barely fit. I installed the board the same way as the original (theres really only one way to put it in) and i was like wow my video card can fit into both the pci express slots now. very odd, never seen this problem before.

and if you guys close this thread, just open a new one because i like reading it to see how people are doing with the board

Yes, that was what I meant. Reading one thread is easier than reading 2 threads
