to bad they just jacked up the price @ newegg of the 800 to 141$... imo way to much for 800 rated stuff..

I agree but here the difference between them an Muskin CL4 for example has dropped to 25 euros where previously was 50.
But they are better even from 8500 that have same or greater price.

If you are going to buy just from specs then the PC8500 price of available 2x2GB kits is the same or higher than this kit

    PC8500 starts from 153$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1066+(PC2+8500

and the Evo CL4 are at 141$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...+800+(PC2+6400)

Wanna spend more money for the 8500 and never reach 560+MHz?
That is the question you ask to yourself.

Surely. 560+ with ease except if they have changed the chips in this line in the past or will change in the future.
Everyone here did that after knowing the kit a little.
Be sure to get the ones that have the 2.0V sticker as shown in the photos in this thread, because i have read
other that say 1.9-2.0 or 2.1-2.3 on sticker.

I do not know what kind of chips they put in there all companies for the 8500 line.

    I know these:
1)1000-1060 is the common clocks for all Powerchips. They are used on both
PC6400@4-4-4-12 and PC8000@5-5-5-15 kits with the PC6400 doing better because it is hard for powerchips sometimes to even be stable at 4-4-4-12 (405 was no go for my Redlines XP8000)
2)The PC8500 line needs better chips or the best powerchips. Some of them will have chips like in the Evo One that do 570+ with low voltage but i do not know which.
3)Big mystery of chips are the upcoming Dominator rated past PC9000 if i remember correctly and powerchips surely cannot do that.

If you want to buy Powerchips get the cheapest ones like Transcend Jetram and not give your money for 8500.
Of course you have to think what is the lowest stable memory frequency you need for 24/7 with your current setup.

I have tried Muskin XP-6400@4-4-4-12/Redlines and Evo One PC6400 CL5-5-5-15. None of them could be stable past 530+ so i ordered the Evo CL4 because i needed at least 540MHz

so should i go for the 1066 evo ones then will i get further than with the 800 cl4's?? is it worth nearly 100$ more?? the corsair ones kinda worry me because there is little track record on them right now and i have no idea how well they will do minus the lab tests they say they got to almost 1150 with a retail set but again that is in a lab and may not be able to be reproduced imo in the same way in a reg system..

We also do not have a post/review of Evo 8500 ones if i remember correctly.
So go for the CL4 ones. I expect them to do the same since at 8500 rated speed and voltage the CL4 ones are doing the same (and better),
since they need 2.0V to past 560.

Wow, nice clocks. Have you run any Orthos 1hr/ OCCT 1 hour?

The Evo One BD 8500's I received from Newegg were someones Return, Box was physically opened and had Fingerprints on plastic. Opened a formal complaint with Newegg for 100% refund + shipping.

I'm sticking with the 4GBGSkill 1066PKs until I get my 2GBHK's back from RMA. Asus Maximus + GSkill PK = No issues running 560.

I did not test them with anything else because these won't be my 24/7 setup
    only benching sessions.
They are at 540 for everyday with 1.9Vdimm.
But with no more less than ~5MHz for Orthos/Prime/OCCT should be ok,
since that is the max difference i have found between 32M and them.

Any screens? I'm trying to get a handle on DSC, Ai, and TB and whether or not I just got a bad board that needs and should have been RMA'd months ago.

And your screenshot right now doing folding/encoding/memtest/surfing/watching Lost all together

Impressive DRAM and NB voltages to say the least! Back to drawing board, I'm gonna test lower NB, and DSC and Ai. Thanks for the settings.

    540/PL7/strap333 vs 562/PL8/strap266

Yea I was wondering why the latency was so high.....maybe the transbooster has been relaxed? I used to toy with this, but it actually caused instability rather than stability at 475 FSB..............I have it on auto ATM, which yields great performance at DDR2-1140:

I bought a kit of the Evo One DDR2-800 and it ended up being a dud OCer.....may even be defective (going to test more in single ch mode tonight).......however I'm going to return for exchange and see how it does. I couldn't even boot at the same settings as the ESoteria.

I just threw the Evos in to test again.........ugh wouldn't even POST at 475 FSB 1:1 with 2.10V (in BIOS, so really like 2.18V), so I had to set it to 2.27V actual.......this kit is warrantied to 2.3V. I can't get it to POST at my Esoteria's settings with the max VDIMM.

I would really like to have a kit like that clocks like yours Spyrus, as it would use less VDIMM than my ESoteria, and have better heatspreaders (for longevity's sake)....

Here's a memory test with the same timings as the Esoteria and MCH BIOS settings........

Well I must have a defective kit.......if it can't do DDR2-950 at 5-5-5-15 with 2.27V then something is wrong :p
Time to RMA for replacement and hope for a good one! I'll be happy if I can get a kit of Evos that OC as fast as my Esoteria with less voltage........which is what I'm seeing in thes Evo threads.

It is the frequency that can handle this.
Redlines with powerchips could not boot to 1000 with tRFC<43
but these babies can do that with tRFC = 42 up to 1020 without
extra voltage and to 1040 with +0.1volt.

I do not know what do you mean by 'normal' cause it is a timing so we can
set it to whatever value memory can handle. Is like 5-5-5-15 going to 5-5-5-12 for example.

They reach the upcoming Dominator PC9000+ which will be expensive.
What else do you want? Grab them before they go away...

Today i look into them and i could see the bottom of the near end chips.

It is a Powerchip finally... they clock high due to 8-layer,cooling,high-binning (and voltage helps them - that is the weird part)

They have also the Black Dragon with lights red when they are working.

I'm about to RMA my Evos for exchange to see if I can get a good set......IMO these are freaking defective. If I can't run DDR2-950 5-5-5-15 with 2.28V then I doubt it can run DDR2-800 at 4-4-4-12......at least stable for memtest. My PC locked up after ~3s of HCI Windows Memtest.

I was looking to get them stable at 585MHz with 2.2V but for now it is impossible.
Higher tRFC = 60 could not help, since they do 577@2.1V. I think they
max out at 580 finally regardless voltage. I will test them again in short term

@binormalkilla your sticker on heatsprider what does it say? Be careful to say 2.0V.
Also if you can go to the store maybe you can choose them yourself.

The sticker says 2.3. I have to order them, as there aren't any shops carrying RAM like this anywhere near where I live, LOL. Only value RAM at Circuit City!
