They shyte out the 780i. People think it is a better board than the 680i. They buy it and find it has all the same issues of the 680i. Then after they've suckered everyone in to buy the 780i they come out with 790i a few months later?

It should have been the 690i and then the 780i if they were going to do it at all.

    Suckers...

I knew it was a 600+ but the 790i can open it up easier.

1.45v FSB to get to that speed.

Its higher on this board but I am sure there are Intel boards out there that can match fsb but how rare?

I'm one of the suckers who bought a 780i and some Dominator DDR2

I can hardly believe the jump in FSb from around 480 to 600. Is there any chance yours is the golden one though? I know Gary Key at Anandtech said theirs had higher FSB than the 780i but he didn't indicate it was going to be this high.

    I'm still amazed....

    Regards

    Andy

The really important question is, will this do anything for the FSB wall thats been seen (so far) on non extreme edition yorkfields? If it does I'm sold.

BTW I have no idea what creates an FSB wall so I dont know if its possible for chipsets to affect it. If someone wishes to enlighten me, thatd be grand.

Better is better, but still not quite good enough for quads with limited multis.

VERY nice to see such good dually FSB though.

Is anyone allowed to mention MC performance compared to P35 or X38- SuperPi comparisons etc?

Thanks for the results so far.

@Charles- was that 615FSB with the stock NB cooler?
