    GeIL DDR2 EVO ONE 2x2GB DDR800 CAS4 - Preview

    Hi all,
I've managed to get a set of the new GeIL Black Dragon EVO ONE and they've showing some decent headroom for a 4GB kit.

These are just preliminary results with a more detailed review to follow.

    Using a Gigabyte P35 DS3R
    BIOS F6a
Windows XP 32-bit (I'm working on getting a 64-bit OS)

    445Mhz 4-4-3-11 2.0v

    563Mhz 5-6-5-16 2.0v

I mainly focus on the primary CAS value then tighten up the secondary timings later on.

4-4-4 & 5-5-5 should be achievable at slightly lower speeds than the values above.

These are great looking modules and functional too

    DDR 907 4-3-3-8 2T 2.2v
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=307927

They will do around 900 4-3-3-8 1T which has a good BW jump.

    strange.

my friend has 8 gigs of the stuff, but his is rated for 1.9 volts, and doesnt get much more then 900 very easily, no matter the cas or voltage.

Very impressive....I'm thinking about buying these. If these are the same chips as the 1066 Evo Ones then they should be able to take 2.3V NP.....

Are those the CL4 or CL5 DDR2-800? From what GeIL's says the ratings are:
    SPECIFICATIONS:

    ▪ Capacity: 2GB & 4GB Dual Channel Kit
    ▪ Speed: 800MHz
    ▪ CAS Latency: 5-5-5-15
    ▪ GeIL certified FBGA 64Mx8 and 128Mx8 DDR2 IC Chips
    ▪ 240pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DIMM
    ▪ 8-Layer Ultra Low Noise PCB
    ▪ Heat Spreader: EVO ONE Heat-sink System
    ▪ Working Voltage: 800MHz CL5 - 1.8V, 800MHz CL4 1.9~2.0V
    ▪ Retail Package
    ▪ GeIL Limited Lifetime Warranty

    GE24GB800C4DC - 800MHz 4-4-4-12 4GB Dual Channel Kit
and the 1066 (may use the same chips, so voltage should be safe....for sure on air)
    SPECIFICATIONS:
    ▪ Capacity: 2GB & 4GB Dual Channel Kit
    ▪ Speed: 1066MHz
    ▪ CAS Latency: 5-5-5-15
    ▪ GeIL certified FBGA 64Mx8 and 128Mx8 DDR2 IC Chips
    ▪ 240pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DIMM

    ▪ Heat Spreader: EVO ONE Heat-sink System
    ▪ Working Voltage: 1066MHz CL5 - 2.1~2.3V

    GE24GB1066C5DC - 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 4GB Dual Channel Kit
Someone should really take the heatspreaders off these to see what the chips are

    Looks like they are Elpida.

EDIT; Looks like all the Black Dragon's use Elpida, PC2 8500's as well. And it also seems they will take some voltage. The 8500's are rated @ 2.3v C5.

    This is elpida

    And this is powerchip

So according to Dragon picture the Dragon ones are Elpida.
But these we are not sure for now, maybe if i got off the heatspreaders.
I think powerchips though because they have exact same behaviour (tighten up to 5-5-4-13 like Redline)
but tRFC can be tighten more though.
They correspond to voltages though every 0.1volt gives them 10MHz
    from 1.9 to 2.2
