I've seen many many requests for original heatpipes, surely with the Strikers and co, till now didn't see much response towards the person in need... I really hope you can find one and RMA the bugger...
@Vious : I run 400FSB at 1.47volts mate, all depends too if you run your ram at high clocks... if I set 1200mhz for the ram I need to up NB to 1.59 to be stable in benches and co...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
Hello folks!
I own a Asus Maximus Formula SE and it worked perfect for 2 months now. I overclocked my E6600 to 3,3 Ghz and used OCZ titanium alpha memory with nearly 1000 Mhz@ 2.3 Volts. VGA Card was a HD3870.
Then I exchanged the HD3870 with a 3870 X2...worked fine for 2 weeks until my board began to hang with the LCD poster "DET RAM"....i thought, well OK...one stick died. Indeed it did, one stick worked perfectly. After replacing the memory sticks, suddenly the 3870 X2 began to suck. The computer was booting normal, but the vga card didnt give a signal to my display and it remained black....the fan was crying at full speed*RESET*....same stuff....*REST* same stuff. After some CLEAR CMOS actions, it started but no overclocking possible. each restart ended in black screen, computer booting....WTF?!?! I also received 2 blue screens after start up something with memory vga card and ativdag....OK, enough B.S. with this stuff. Why did i buy this vga card?!?!?

Well, now its sold on Ebay and now using a 7950GT temporarily ;./ Changing to 780i Chipset now with 2 8800 GTX....
And now one final question: WTF is the southbridge so hot?!?!?!?! damn...im using watercooling and down there a fire is almost burning...
Anyone has or has had similar problems???
greetings

I think the SB is so hot because it is connected to the NB. The NB sends it's extra heat to the SB via the heat-pipe.
