OK, I am SERIOUSLY considering running an EVGA solution, since my second RMA on my Abit 680i is not working, STIL. I am so sick and tired of getting blocked by bad hardware / incompatibilities, im just done with 680i
HOWEVER, I also have a spare BFG8800GTX sitting around that I COULD OC with NVtune and dump it on the new board along with my OC 2s....so I am setup already for SLI. However, I need to know the following:
Whats a good PSU that has 6 independant 6 pin rails for Tri-SLI?
I think I am going to pull the trigger on the new board and a new PSU here soon, say in a few hours. I have a few more things I am oging to try to get my current hardware configuration up and running, but I am not hoping for the best. Worst case, I get my new board and get everything up and running by this weekend for testing.
TYIA for the PSU suggestion. And oh, BTW, I want something in the 1200 watt range just to be safe!

i got the tagan bz1100w psu, and it is awesome. if you look on nvidias site it is also certified for tri sli, although im using dual sli. it has 4x6pin and 2x8pins so you dont need any adapters to power the third card. cables are also modular
edit: the 8pins are actually 6+2 so you can use them as 6 pins

Ahhh, IC now. I was wondering about that when I was browsing Nvidia's website and saw no "Tri-SLI" certified PSus. That explains it. In my current setup I have a Coolermaster SLi rated 850W PSU, and I love it. Might go with the upgraded Coolermaster and see how that works, or I might not. Thanks for the heads up!
As for the BFG 8800GTX and my 2 BFG 8800GTX OC2s....I SHOULD be able to run tri-sli with those three cards, assuming I use NVtune to OC the regular 8800GTX to the OC2 card specs, correct?

Well, though I haven't played around with the NVtune tools, as far as I know you can clock the boards however you want to. And, since the 8800GTX cards and the 8800GTX OC2s are basically ideantical except for the factory overclocking, I would assume that overclocking the vanila 8800GTX to OC2 specs would in fact make it an OC2...
Then again, I might be wrong![]()

That's kinda off from your original claim. I never said that I was running a quad and neither did you. All I remember is that you said it takes 1.5V for SPP to run 4GB of RAM and I said that's not the case.
Although I'm not around here too often, folks who know me that I prefer LargeFFT for various reasons. I also have ran 12 hour Memtest with 8GB of RAM but unfortunately there is no way for me to show you the vSPP in a screenshot.
I don't have any reason to lie about this nor time. You can move on thinking I'm mistaken.
I don't check my PMs very often.
Anyway, when you are trying to prove me wrong, dont show me a cpu stability test and tell me your ram is stable........i have tested more than 5 780i's and they all performed equal.
You're being funny now. I am sure that you know the difference between LargeFFT and Blend? If you ask people who work in the industry (like OCZ Tony), they will tell you that LargeFFT is a good barometer for memory controller stability. For pure memory testing, we have another industry standard called Memtest.
There are other reasons as well, but one big reason I don't like Blend is that I can't use the system while it's running. But I guess I will have to run it sometime later just to prove you wrong. Or should I be concerned that I don't have a quad-core?
And five 780i boards? Do you work for EVGA?

Questions:
I just sold my Asus M2N-E SLI + CPU, going to move my Asus Striker Extreme into that box with an E6600, 680i + Q6600 = crap clocks.
I don't think I'll wait for the EVGA 780i FTW edition, if anything I can do a step-up later.
Now, I have 2x 2GB OCZ Reaper, I was wondering if anyone has had luck with 4x 2GB with 400MHz or higher FSB?
I'm NOT looking for extreme overclocks, but I want AT LEAST 9x 400MHz for 3.6GHz on my Q6600.
On a side note, is 2x 8800GTX really that much better than 2x 8800GT? I have one of each card right now, and I'm not sure which one to buy next.
Work in progress ...
