It's not too often when you see guys put it all together, even the best runs usually have something left in them.

I'm tweaked out as far as I can go without turning everything into blobs on the screen.. I could crank up LOD to +15 but where's the fun in that

Final results from me for now....

    Asus 8400GS Air: vf700-cu + 50cfm 80mm fan, 1.8v GPU 2.2v MEM 6-3-3-3-3-3 timings.

    3DMark 2001 864/2322/475
    23,051 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9333372

    3DMark 2003 837/2214/475
    9,116 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=5728341

Have tried up to 2.0v on the GPU... not going anywhere past those scores until I rig up better cooling or start a blob party lol

I lot of the guys on that competion are likely using reduced quality over and beyond LOD. I can run a test tonight to show you the difference it makes if you wish. I don't run it because a line has to be drawn somewhere and to me that goes a bit too far.

    Regards

higher LOD doesn't always result in gains

i would suggest testing a range for all tests and then testing the order for '01 (VERY time consuming)

damn i still haven't received my card
    damn it oohms

Updated scores. Nice work with that card Very nicee gpu to run such little voltage at 800, shame your memory is holding you back so badly. You could try one of the Leadteks or similar, or are you going to persevere with this one just to eek it out until it pops?

    Regards

This is one of the reasons I suggested no LOD at the start but the common concensus was that LOD should be allowed. I normally use LOD because it is a tweak in that often there is a sweet spot, ie 3.6 or 4.9 or whatever that needs to be found.

I have changed rule 4 slightly to be

    4) You can ONLY change LOD setting in respect to visual quality.

If anyone disagrees with this shout up. We are supposed to be mainly testing our little cards here to DESTRUCTION ( partial or full ) not testing who knows most about the software side I guess so I am happy with that rule, let me know your thoughts.

    Regards

    Andy

I know a program that will run 3dmark 2k1 (and probably 03-06) without textures and many other "tweaks"

Im not sharing what it is as i don't think its really appropriate though.

And it is not picked up by Futuremark?
    Is it considered a cheat?

I think thats because of you're default language. If you choose for the dutch flag on hardware.info, you can access the subforum.

Low clocks, its not easy when you're voltage line droops from 3.3v to 1.68v.

Picked up my card today. It's passively cooled MSI 8400GS and has samsung 2.5ns memory.

Just warming up with stock card, GPU@540MHz, Shader@1350MHz, Mem@518MHz:

I may be back in the running. Been working on this for hours. About to try it out, but it is posting at least! not booting into windows however

well the resistors to give the correct voltage i completelmucked up using a spade resistor. Thus i cannot find a way of using this one, so i got thinking. Seen other people design them etc, then i remembered oen of my other cards.

What i have done, is got a old x850 pro i had, and connected a wire from it to my 8400gs. Thus the memory voltage is still being done on the 8400gs, but the vgpu is being done by the x850 pro. May jump over the memory one as well to control that.

First thing. if i am using another card to power it, do i still count in this competition?

apart from that, i shall work on getting it going again properly. The x850 has A vid area where i can choose any voltage from 1v to 2v in 0.05v steps.

haha. thanks for the interest stevil. I will do. card kept cutting out, so i have linked the mem as well. only two wires, and solved everything. The gpu core right now is around 1.35-1.4v, and the mem i got a link giving 2.0-2.05v, so about right areas. GPU is going to be increased though. Get pic in like 5-10 minutes!

Edit - here ya go. That is what it looks like now!

well so far, the vgpu droops like crazy. so 1.4v idle, 1.3v load. memory is good however, staying to 2v solid.

Just bumped the vgpu mod to 1.6v so see how much it droops, and what i can manage. Good thing is i am having fun, and learning!

well at the moment, it keeps dropping out at different intervals. I think the main reason in the OCP on the x850.work on it after dinner

Why limit det "standard" class to air only? Water isn't that much better IMO. You can run air outside in -20C, but you can't run water inside in +20C. I find that kinda silly. Anyone agree?

(The reason I write this is because I found out that my old ati 9800pro waterblock fittet perfectly )
