imo, time travel is not possible...it's not logical.
ask a man 25 years ago that ppl from all over the world that poeple will be gathering in a virtual place talking about everything (and computers in particular in xs) - he'll say the same for sure.

Gathering in a virtual place before 25 years wasn't possible but it was logical, time travel is not logical at all and you'll see it only in movies.

as i recall indeed parts of time travel might not be possible ever.

most say jumping back isn't possible only forward. (that's why we hadn't see ppl from the future )

    but i'm optimistic

Well the Internet wasn't exactly limited by the laws of physics

But time travel is possible into the future via relativity. Travel at 99.999% the speed of light to the center of the galaxy and it might take 40 years for the astronaut but when he returns earth will have had 100,000 years pass by

TIme travel hasnt, isnt and wont happened/happening/happen, unless its military only and has been keept 100% secret for Joe Average.

Think about all the things that have happened that would have been reversed if time travel is possible. If a time machine is ever invented, ever, we'd know because someone would have come back in time and let the cat out the bag.

mindjob: go back in time to prevent 9/11, you prevent it, it doesnt happen, so when the time comes for you to go back in time to change it, you wont need to because you've already stopped it. Aye.

because of the paradoxes that might happen when going to past i think that won't be happen but future time travel.......... that's different issue.

Don't quote me on this, but I THINK they predict that if said black holes were to appear they would be so small that they would evaporate through Hawking radiation before they would have a chance of interacting with any other objects... and so the Earth won't be sucked into this said black hole...

As for time travel, if you could travel backwards in time, I don't know, I doubt it?

As someone pointed out Hawking wrote about this stuff and predicted it all years ago. Yes time travel is possible they say, just not on any practical scale. Sort of like "teleportation" whereby they destroy one particle and a particle elsewhere seemingly takes on it's exact quantum signature, theoretically breaking the speed of light in the process and this could technically be construed as "time travel" as well. All these mundane terms suck for explaining what's really happening though. Language is entirely inadequate.

What happens is that articles like these get written by "journalists" who barely passed advanced basket weaving and ended up as "writers" explaining all this science to us, the masses.

Anyway, was good for a "WTF is he talking about" moment.

if worm holes will become a real thing then one can go through time back and forward easily.

one side is on earth and one side does a big circle at almost the speed of light and goes back to earth...

both will be on earth but not at the same time and therefor allowing time travel between them.

    if worm holes were reality....

Haven't you ever seen how fast a grandma drops an apple in a supermarket when there's a worm hole in it? That's faster than the speed of light

I actually saw something on discovery about time travel. Not using the particle accelerator though, a different device. This device how ever will only be able to send particles into the future. They said however, that you couldn't just go back into the prehistoric ages, you can only go back to when the first time machine was created. So if the machine was built in 2010, and the year was 2015, you could only see back to 2010, same way for seeing into the future, if the machine was destroyed in 2050, you could only see upto 2050

yeah and maybe smashing those particles against each other will create.... icecream!!!

honestly, there are so many wild theories based on nothing... i wish theyd just sht up and work with what they know instead of speculating what COULD be.

Well, that's been discussed to death too. The biggies are energy and data storage. Quantum computing will resolve data storage issues, but then you have to come up with all the energy it takes to destroy every particle in your body and reassign those signatures in the correct order somewhere else to recreate you. Doesn't seem to be a worthwhile engagment to me.

I'd rather have Saaya's instant ice cream machine.

If scientists went by that, we would still be using gas lamps, cooking our food over an open fire, and going places with horse drawn carriages. Tons of the things we have now at one point would have been thought as fantasy.

The other 6 dimensions are all just from Chuck Norris round house kicking people extra hard. Only happened 6 times now, and he's vowed to stop creating wormholes as well.

The thing they are working on is super and subtime. Basically infinitely huge or infinitly deep holes in spacetime.

Its not about jumping around in time, its possible to go forward, we know that, we're all doing it at rate X as we sit here. However introduce super huge masses and rate X can change. If you speed rate X up, or find a way to get it to increase, you can pass forward in time. Backwards though won't happen, rate X cannot be negative as far as we know.
