Pretty much sure you'll be able to increase Mhz.

One little Drive Strength change got me from insta Super PI carsh to a 32M Super PI stable OC.

In my case I guess 4 DIMM's are limiting me to get my OC. Though now I start to understand it a little I might as well try 16x219 with 3-3-3 timings, maybe that will work and give better results than 14x251 4-4-4

Oh BTW this cpu would just about boot at 3.450 on the Steaming pile it was in before & that was with 1.45 Vcore & more Vcore would not give me anymore Mhz & that was only with 1 stick of ram to not hold it back.

Get ridd of that SP modo ZL1 it maybe holding your cpu back.

Random question here, on the board(I had/have one when dfi sends it back) in that hand drawn picture it shows under the pci-e x16 slots as power connectors. I am wondering, should I be attaching the(what appears to be) type of connector that goes to a floppy??? All my previous boards had molex connectors on the board, not floppy power connectors.

There tech support was awesome, walked me through step by step, emailing me back and forth in less than 2 hours each time, during business hours. Then I got sent to the rma department, first they told me to rma it from where I bought it, but motherboard pro only allows 30 days to return it to them. Then I went back to dfi, and 24 hours later they told me to submit my receipt of purchase, and fill out a form. I sent that, along with a few questions on the rma. I got back an rma number and they ignored my questions...so whatever, I sent it in last Thursday, and haven't heard a thing. I think it was supposed to get to them Monday. I will post again when I get it back.

    Hi all,
    (sorry for my english )

yesterday I got the famous C1 post code error...

I was playing (eve-online in low security ) -> computer freeze
->reboot, lauch the game 5s later -> freeze
    ->reboot, C1 error

I try all ram position with clear Cmos -> always C1 error
I test the 2 modules of RAM on an another mobo, C1 error

The 2 modules (2*1G OCZ PC2-8500 reaper CF édition) seems dead (my eve-online ship to ... ).
This ram was runing fine on this mobo for 1 mounth without a problem.
I use the 1.30.08 bios (i tested the beta one).

well, this mobo seems to be a RAM killer, 1 module fail it's ok , but 2 modules in the same time it's

Today i'll buy cheap ram and try boot...

    Hi DFI users,

I have that sapphire dfi clony here and looking for the lowest possible voltages for SB/NBcore/NBpcie/NBht.
Defaults seemed to be 1,2/1,25/1,16/1,23 (or 1,27)V.
Currently running prime95 at 1,2/1,12/1,12/1,13V with an 9600BE at stock since an hour. Wonder how much lower I can go.
I'm a little paranoid cuz my 9500 died on the first day in this mobo at modest voltages 1,375vcore 1,3vcpunb.
Can it be those defaults are abit high?
As for phenom overclocking does it help to increase NBcore/NBht if I only oc via the multi?

Well an hour or two before the chips died, I was looking for a temperature at which the chip starts to become unstable.

I mounted an Zalman 7000 fan and ran em at lowest possible speed with the 9500 oced to 2,65GHz at 1,375-1,4V
This is a screeny of what I had running as SG reported 100° I powered the machine off.

Look at these different temperature readings.
    SG 100° CPU-Temp 53°, Core-Temp 85°.
On the M3A Cpu temp was allways 5-10° above core-temp. Had not touched the temperature offset in the bios.
I'm not sure what temp the cpu run at I guess it's 75°-85°.
Afterwards I mounted the BigTyphoon again and played alittle with memory timings. System behaved normal after that temperature test and the load temps SG reported where ~50°. Tried a few settings with 1T and increased mem voltage above 2,2V.
Then I wanted to try an HD2600XT together with an HD2400pro. The system froze during Driver Installation and rebooted at the gfx-driver load stage during windows start.
Replaced the cpu with an BE2400 and I got the same problem. Used an other hd whom booted fine. So I switched back to the 9500 and now that thing whould no longer boot. Mobo hung at C1 stage. I tried the cpu in an M2A-VM and an M3A mobo and it did not boot in those two also.
Funny thing was that it also did not boot with the BE2400 now, tried it with an X2-3600 and that worked. After that the BE2400 worked.
I tried different types of cmos erasing and flashed different bios versions just to make sure i'm not affected of the C1 issue here.
I ordered an 9600BE and that thing booted fine, only thing i noticed was that it ran at 1,01V, can be that was a leftover setting from the 9500.
KTE mentioned once that he could get an chip work again under very cold ambient, I placed my 9500 in the fridge, but that did not help eighter.

Can be three things that killed the chip.

    1. That temperature experiment (but the system worked without problems afterwards for two hours).
    2. Too much voltage on the ram (but those chips died with low NB and high RAM voltage and I had 1,3V on the core-NB).
    3. Too much volts for the cpu. I ran it at up to 1,5V in the M2A-VM for weeks without problems and long term degradation. But cpu-z reported ~1,4V at those settings. On the sapphire I tried 1,425V at 2,7GHz but that was not stable so i switched back to 2,6GHZ at 1,375V-1,38V. CPU-Z reported voltages where pretty close to my bios settings +-0,01V

Still curious about those default voltages have em all at the lowest possible now (1,2/1,12/1,12/1,03V) and it's still prime95 stable.

EDIT: First day I did not freeze my machine and prime did not fail one time, damn I must be paranoid. Trying to find the minimum stable vcore/vcorenb atm, it's priming fine at 1,1625V/1,1625V atm. Is there a bios version out ther with cpu vid/nb vid options in addition to vcore/vcorenb? Seems those stay at 1,25V. At least that's what AMD Power Monitor reports.

EDIT EDIT: Yeah, finaly prime95 failed at 1,15/1,15V

I put cheap ram -> boot ok
Then i remove this ram and put OCZ -> system boot up

    Strange...

To go along with this info and my experience with DFI and MotherboardPro. DFI tech support tried out some things with me, but to no avail. If I put any RAM in either slot#3 or #4 I got a C1 error and no system boot up (the ram worked in my wife's computer though with the same board. Even got some new Crucial Ballistix RAM, still nothing. So, I get an RMA number from DFI because when I called them someone I talked to on the phone told me to e-mail the RMA department and ask for one. Meanwhile the guy I was e-mailing back and forth in tech support told me to try and work out getting an RMA with MotherboardPro. Long story short for me is MBP said they would RMA it for me (even though I bought it in early December) but it would go the same path of getting sent back to DFI anyway, so if I did send it through them it might take longer, but they would be able to track it better.

I told MBP that I already had a RMA number and the said the choice was up to me as to if I wanted them to do it or do it myself. For the sake of time, I just sent it in myself, but MBP said that if I did have any issues with DFI to let them know and they would get on DFI's butt about getting me back a working product. Talk about service. What company you know of offers to work with another company even when the customer is clearly on their own? I am quite impressed with this and recommend them. As a footnote to this story both the tech support guy I was e-mailing at DFI and the person I was talking to at MBP had excellent things to say about the other parties. DFI said MBP was really good to work with on these kinds of matters and MBP said the same thing about DFI. Kind of gives me a warm fuzzy. The board got back to DFI on Monday, so obviously haven't gotten it back yet, but I have a good feeling so far about my experience. Hope that feeling doesn't end up being misplaced.

YES!!! MBP is awesome! mike called me back after i ordered my board and wanted to tell me that it was coming from california instead of where they are at (MBP) and he just didn't want me freaking out wondering whats coming from CAli.

Only thing when you RMA stuff back to a company...unless they just send you a new one, you risk them testing it and saying oh hey according to our tests it works..so its fine lets send it back.

Well, I don't think that would happen with my board. I mean, I used four different sticks of ram on that thing inside the case and out and still couldn't get it to boot off of those two slots. If it does work, I wanna know how they got it working because I sure couldn't.

update, shawn from dfi in cali couldnt help me over the phone and said that most likely my cpu is dead, so i called up amd and set up an rma and im just waiting on the shipping labels to come in now.

i want to know if changing of ram could fix my problem, the cheapest (slowest) ram i could find to test my system on was an ocz set that was rated at 6400(?), can u guys tell me which ur using that helps to boot ur system up?

So speedfan killed your cpu? Had probs with everest with an hd installed on an 770 chipset mobo. System allways froze when i started everest. CPU is also dead now. Did a fresh install afterwards with an BE2400 and switched to an BE9600 without reinstallation. Everest works fine now. This mobo seems to have an issue with the superio chip and old installations.
