Honestly, apart from the mind blowing size (love being a sniper in BF2), and the "tennis match" effect when gaming, I honestly like the 24 inch version better. I don't know. I swapped out my 24 inch for the 30 inch. My wife was smarter than I am and took over the 24 inch. It seems to look sharper and has more vivid colors.

I prefer LCD 1080p 37" monitor than 24 or 30 dell..I don´t know...dell 30 is smaller and high res. ( its great but would effect gameplay ) and 37" at a good distance its great anyway, high quality too

I'll take a Pioneer Elite 1080p, thank you. Unfortunately, its a plasma model that's just 50 inches (how cute and economical) and it costs only $10,000

Game play is effected by the 37" tv negatively. When sitting close you have to turn your head left and right, that strains the eyes and neck. If you can see the battlefield without turning your head or moving your eyes that much you can usually respond a lot faster, and that is a benefit. Putting the same viewing angle on a larger screen doesn't help you as you don't see more, infact you see less, without turning your head.

Low rez on large screen looks poor as you can see pixels. You sit close to your monitor unlike tv, it makes a good tv because you don't notice all the visual defects, but up close its not that great. Just like plasma tv's.

Every plasma tv I have seen looks like crap close up. At least with movies. Maybe pc output is more detailed, but with plasma you will have burn in issues so it can never be used as a pc monitor.

I'm already having that problem with a 30 inch LCD heh In fact, the 24 inch LCD I gave up was perfect

IanY the 3007 is a IPS screen where the 24 is probably PVA. Supposedly the IPS has truer color (but opinions vary there). I prefer PVA and if Dell made a 3008 with a Samsung panel I'd already own one. Since they don't, I don't.

I have an older 24 now, 2405, and I find your comments on the 30" issues interesting. Perhaps I 'should' be aiming for the 2408. 30" seems the cat's meow though so hard to say.

I wished I have the gumption to go out and buy a 3008. I think they're priced at $2,200 each and each time I look at the monitors I already have, I let out a smile, so I am content with what I have.

Sorry for bringing back the old thread ... would love to see finished pics of the 343B. (EDIT: found the final pic thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ight=lian+343B )

re monitor size ... I moved from a 24" to 27," then just recently to the Dell 3008. I really like it ... but more for my office apps than gaming. It's not too big for gaming, but it's a pain with variable bifocals to get the distance right and keep everything in focus (the disadvantages of getting old!).
