    OK, I am taking notes. VTT? I am really happy with my current overclock, but at 1.5 volts, I would expect more speed. (or less volts, either way)

    How did you arive at 69% is equal to 101/99 for cpu at 1.46 and 102 for 1.5 on NB. After reading the Anand article they seem to base GTL's off of vtt. They have a reference chart, but don't tell how they arived at those numbers. I've been trying to use their charts and going off of vtt.

    Just looked at the edge of stabiltiy charts. The numbers are very similar to Anands, but edge's charts have more voltage settings. Thanks for the heads up, I'll use their charts for now. At some point I'd love to be able to calculate my own chart.


    PS. try lowering the suggested value, I've had some minor success doing that.

    CPU temp around -30 degrees, System 40, chipset 48.

    With air cooling I got it running nicely at 3.8Ghz with my Mach II GT I can't get it much above 460 FSB im pretty sure this CPU is able of doing 4.4-4.5
    but the motherboard seems to hold me back. Even with 1.55 Vcore, 1.74 CPU PLL and 1.64 NB and relaxed timings I can't even get it stable at 470 FSB. Same with both 2 or 4 ram modules.
    Any suggestions?

    Mic, you sure your CPU can handle the high FSB? Might just try playing with GTLs more. I'll soon be able to assist you I hope, I got my Q6600 primestable at 480 FSB with WC on the Abit IX38 but am now changing to the DFI and a SS unit. If I am also stuck at 450 FSB it's the mobo (or me being not able to deal with 100+ bios settings...)

    Should be, had it stable enough for a 3d mark test at 485 FSB on an asus maximus with 2 sticks of memory without much tweaking and 1.45 vcore. Dropping the multiplier on the x38 to 6 and i still run into the fsb wall.

    Tracer's off my system doesn't like them looks like, I just put in my Super Talent and all is good again, the tracer's no matter what setting I made after some time I got BSOD. What could be the cause of it I don't get it
    I buyed the tracers bc I thought they work very well with this board but they don't as I found out.
    any suggestions would be appreciated

    Don't know what to say, the Ballisix 8500 I have work great. One thing I did find is they don't like the 4/5 divider otherwise, I've had great luck with them.

    I have Tracer 8500's too and they run flawless and max out my Q6600 with 2.1v max.

    I run them at 1202Mhz with 3:4 divider now, for that above 2.4v (451fsb).

    They run great at 5-5-5-4-9-30 and don't seam to bother with 7 or 8 performance level.

    You were probably looking for Jor3lBR's settings, but more may be helpful. I see no difference between the 8500s and the tracers. I run the settings the same for all dividers.

    I set the Vdimm at 2.2v or higher depending on what I'm trying to do.

    I set the divider manually. I usually run the 3/4 or 5/6, but all work for me except the 4/5.

    Enhanced Data Transmitting Fast
    Enhanced Addressing Fast
    T2 Dispatch Disabled

    For fine delay
    Everything is set to auto except.

    Channel 1 CLK Crossing More Agressive
    Channel 2 CLK Crossing More Agressive
    CH1CH2 common CLK Crossing More Agressive

    The rest I have left at stock.


    One thing to think about is that there's a new revison of the Ballastixs out. The use a different chip and may not work as well. I don't know if they've made it to retail or not. You can tell by looking at the modules. If they are double layered they're the old revision.

    Thank you PhilDoc, I'll try that tomorrow but I don't think I'll get luck since I didn't OC the RAM or any and it wasn't stable. About the layers I just checked them out and there are only chips on one side only.!

    Anytime. It does sound like you got the new revision. Here's the thread about them in the News section. There's a link to a review of them. It may give you some insight on how to OC them.

    I have a question and sorry if this has been mentioned already but i really don't have the time to go through 74 pages right now. :p I want to get the LT and i'm wondering, can a TRUE be mounted so the fan is blowing towards my rear exhaust fans? Also, will i have enough clearance using a Thermalright HR-03 Plus + a 38mm fan on an 8880GTS 640Mb with a soundcard on the bottom pci slot?
