'By setting the Transaction Booster to Disabled, and A relax level of 0, I was able to successfully Prime with a tad lower CPU core voltages.'
This shouldn't be correct. Lowering tRD (PL) as in your case results in lowering NB voltages for same fsb.

My Northbridge is at 1.61V and idle 50C sometime up to 60C, still rock solid stable. The thing is my board get hang at DET DRAM if northbridge set below 1.61v. And also hang if memory voltage set below 2.20v , so weird.

I just want to share my stable settings with others as well. Using D9's and these are rock solid. Still, I'm going to try and lower some of these voltages so please take a look and see which ones you think I "should" be able to lower most likely. The vcore could be one as I just carried over that voltage from my P5K Premium.

I've been running the SP1 RC beta refresh on 2 Vista 64 Ultimate rigs for quite awhile. I've had no issues and the systems are more responsive.

I'm having trouble getting my memory to post.

I am trying 8x500 for and even 4.0. With all the memory settings on auto it boots up and passes Orthos Small FFT (16 hours) and Large FFT (7.5 hours)

But when I try to set the memory timings manually, it hangs at DET DRAM

When I run it with a 400 FSB it posts at 5-5-5-12 no problem. But at 1:1 with 500 FSB it only works on AUTO.

I have mojr issue with 400mhz strap...333 works fine tho. Includes graphical errors, usb drops, network issue...pretty much guarantees it's nothing but a chipset/bios issue.

Can somebody tell me, what "CPU TM Function" does and if it should be enabled or disabled?
I took a look at my manual, at wikipedia.org and searched over google but I didn`t find any explanation
And is "Vanderpool" only useful when using system or does it do anything else (with normal desktop system for gaming, surfing and things like that for example)?
Thank you in advance for your help

It suppose to be some sort of throttle protection management if memory serves me correctly. If I am correct I would keep it enabled!

That's pretty high. You should be able to do 3.6GHz at 1.35000V stable. If not I would RMA for another.

He can do 3,6GHz at 1,4V which a little better than the average chip.

I would honestly tell people to make sure they remount their N/S Bridge HS with AS5. I have found 2 board where the TC wasn't making full contact on the IHS of the N/S Bridge IHS. Maybe that was just me and my boards. Here are pics right here:

But in a nutshell it's a good idea to remove the oem TC and use AS5 and place the HS back on to be assured that the HS is making full contact with the IHS of the N/S Bridge IHS.

I think I finally figured this board out. 460fsb stable and the memory is holding it's own, too. I think the mix of Transaction Booster disabled (0) , Statis Read disabled and Clock twister strong did it for me. I wasn't really having trouble getting hte higher memory frequencies stable, but I was loosing a lot of performance from slackened board timings.

Does it seem like my board voltages are a little high for a dual-core? I'm going to try to lower them a bit and see what happens.

ps. don't laugh at my vCore. I wish it didn't take that much, but it does.

To me that's pretty unusual. My E6850 could do 3.60GHz at 1.35000V.

I reinstalled my Windows and first saved my OC Profile and then loaded setup defaults and now I'm getting that CPU Fan error! Press F1 to Resume. How do I get rid of that error.

According to my math, I need to be using TRD 9 for 450x8 with cas latency 5 according to that Anandtech article. That sound about right?

Grnfinger, I'd be delighted to try it for you if I could find it. I'm only running refresh 1.

I got a new E8400 last night, and it's a world of difference. If anyone cares to share their opinions, it would be appreciated. THREAD LINK.

    People I got a problem.

I was able to run 468 x 9 with a older BIOS. Now I'm only able to run 445 x 9, this is Prime95 stable for 5 minutes...

In the BIOS I set everything on AUTO except the Vcore.
With these settings Prime95 is only stable for 8 hours and more on 425 x 9...
When I try 468 x 9 it freezes just before I go into Vista.

Surely a problem with the voltage somewhere. But I don't know all these settings because I come frome a P35-DQ6...

Now I tried to find the max stable FSB with all voltages set to AUTO and this was 470 x 7, when I try 475 x 7 it fails within 5 min at Prime95.

So normally I should be able to get 470 x 9 with everything on AUTO BUT (!) it doesn't like I explained earlier...

Some help is much appreciated !!!

(Somebody now a program wich can read PLL/NB/SB voltage in windows ?)
And still I will not own everyone[/FONT]
