475 FSB boot no problem but after 5-10 sec in the OS it freezes everytime
I'll have to check with TRD=8 though

What sort of relevance does this have? Haven't read or heard anything about it. My RAM timings are currently loosened as I wanna get my CPU to it's limit before tightening timings and playing with the dividers. Also can anyone take a look at my post last page and answer some of my questions. Thanks!

And some real numbers:
TRD = Performance Level = 8
TRD = Performance Level = 10
TRD = Performance Level = 12
I think it's just a little relevant..
It was with TRD = 7GA-X38-DQ6 doesn't even boot at this setting
Waiting for your results![]()

No boot. This sticks runs fine @ 1300+ on P5K Deluxe...and it works on DQ6 too, but only on 4:5.
I"ll order this motherboard tomorrow...thanks S1mon! I'll be here aways now![]()

Hehe good luck with your new board... The only downside with this mobo is that it likes voltages a lot for the NB...
I tried 1,68V on the NB for 475 FSB on my quad and it crashed after 10 minutes, so far from being stable...

Here's where I'm at, I tried 400x9 at 1.35vcore and it didn't even get into windows before restarting. So I upped it to 1.3750, got into windows and when I started small FFTs on prime95 computer instantly froze. So I rebooted and went up to 1.40, got into windows, started prime95, didn't freeze but a thread failed almost instantly. Tried 450x8, got into windows prime95 and thread failed almost instantly. I have ran OCCT and it passed at 378x9(3.4GHz) @ 1.35Vcore(1.328 actual). I prime95 for 10 minutes just to see what full load temps would get to since OCCT doesn't get my CPU as hot as prime95 does. After 10 mins time my temps were 69c, 69c, 60c, 60c respectively. Idles in mid 30's. Isn't that too hot for that sort of vcore? My goal was to get this chip to 3.6GHz, but at these sort of temps it doesn't look good. Anyone have any advice? Should I start dropping the vcore to see when it becomes unstable at 3.4GHz?
Have yet to mess with my memory yet.

Just up your NB voltage...
On another topic, many people have been complaining of instabilities once the NB gets hot. Mine runs 49C idle and 55C after a good gaming session but my board shows absolutely no signs of instability whatsoever. In fact, rock stable. Anyone else have the same luck?

MIne is fine @ 50c-60c until I go over 450 FSB. At that point, it like to stay below 50c or so. At 266mhz, 333, or 400, all using thier respective strap, no issues. Over 440 on 333mhz strap has temp issues for me too.

Rbs it works man, even higher depends if your Quad core could handle the high fsb, for this board high fsb works np, as long I use 333 strap and disable transaction booster , so if I am correct that is performance lvl 7. Since TB is disable u can use even lower NBv to achieve it

Just a note for everyone and new users of this board. MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE VANDERPOOL TECHNOLOGY IN THE CPU SETTINGS IN BIOS. I enabled it to install Vista SP1 RTM in vmware and afterwards found myself unable to pass even a single minute of Prime without all 4 cores failing. Disabled VT and back to stable operations.

Wow. A lot has happened in the last 24 hours!
Tony & Kup, thanks for your help!
I'm also running 4x1GB (sigged) and find I need a lot more vCore on the E8400. Strangely, I needed LESS on the QX6700 compared to 680i. I'm going to try the tRFC flash as well.
Zucker, thanks for sharing your settings! I'm getting in another E8400 today that I might take for a spin at 500FSB, and your help in posting your experience is perfectly timed.

Just to complete my report...
Recap:
So far With the Maximus and my Q6600 GO:
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.46250v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 414 giving me 3.7GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.506v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 424 giving me 3.81GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.51875v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 428 giving me 3.85GHz with my 400 NB Strap. (And still testing!)
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.51875v (BIOS) starting taking errors 4 minutes into prime with a FSB Frequency 432 giving me 3.8888GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
By setting the Transaction Booster to Disabled, and A relax level of 0, I was able to successfully Prime with a tad lower CPU core voltages.
I did successfully prime 3.9GHz with a FSB Frequency 435 for 45 minutes, but stopped the test.
For my system it requires me to set in the BIOS a CPU core voltage of 1.55000v's, and Everest reads 1.53v.
You also must bump your CPU PLL to 1.60v's.
1.55 Core and only 1.56 PLL would not Prime 3.9GHz error free.
I still have no idea of how high you can go on core voltage, so I am opting to go back to my 3.8GHz. I don't want to fry my chip just yet!
My current settings are listed on page 48 of this thread. I did make one change, setting the Vanderpool Technology to Disabled.
I did update page 48 to reflect that change too.
