MrIcee : GPU-Z dont detect crossfire, SLI, X2 properly under Vista, so dont worry about it.

Guys when I have two problems any ideas?

Problem one when I try to clock past 960mhz core using CCC it crashes teh PC display goes black and you have to reboot.

Problem two when I use AMD GPU TOOL it says device not detected so I cant use that either.

Any ideas how I can clock this card without these problems?

    Thanks

You need the Toollib.dll file for 2900XT clocking in AMDGPUTOOL, you can grab it from nordichardware

Problem one when I try to clock past 960mhz core using CCC it crashes teh PC display goes black and you have to reboot.

Yah if you OC card over about ~920 CCC will can't show clock-speed and shouldn't
launch it because maybe clock-speed will go back default or 875MHz max of CCC
    can setting

Problem two when I use AMD GPU TOOL it says device not detected so I cant use that either.

Update ToolLib.dll or if already update it but run on Vista, right-click and Run as... Administrator

Nice score. Anyone with Visiontek results? I want to see if the mem clock is any good. I found one for $430 US.

Zolkorn buddy, forget CCC and after boot up just run GPU tool, set the clocks you want, ignore the error message, set the clocks you want on the second device, ignore the error message, close GPU tool

If you really want to check what actual clock gets set, run the temp monitor tab in GPU tool and press start, it will show the real clocks speeds.

Zolkorn - nice scores, thanks for sharing your method.

I tried it and I think it works (I got just over 20K 3dm06 with only a light gpu clock/unoptimised settings, click)

    T M's method sounds easier...

A question - every time I reboot the gpu returns to stock settings. Isn't there a tool like riva that works with the x2 that will 'apply settings at boot up'?

    Cheers

i can increase Mhz on GPU or MEM but in tests and games not even 1 Mhz is increased, tried 850Mhz, 875Mhz, RAM 950,975, no change?
also AMD GPU Clock dont run under 64vista? i get cannot load kernel driver.

EDIT : nevermind, i forget to disable XP compatibility, my bad. Though underclock works, overclock dont, if i do autotune thru overdrive, at 860 it goes blackscreen, which is a known issue but anyone got any fix for that?
ZoLKoRn : you didnt have problem with 860+ clocks?

I can't believe there is not a way to apply settings at startup like in riva.

Also, riva doesn't work on any level with the x2...

How are you altering fan speeds?
Is the bios flash available? cba with applying settings manually after every shutdown/reboot!

    Thanks

Good question, i cant seem to find way to alter fan speed, ati tool dont have fan option, so i guess i need to remove part of cooler like zolkorn did and place some fan(s) on it.
Its terrible, second gpu always get 15-20C hotter then first one.

    you just have to add
    Code:
    950Fh
to the RV670 line in the CFG.
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...
