    E8400 High Temps

I just got 2 E8400s both batch Q746A377 installed 1st one then checked the temps idle Everest 34c Coretemp Core 1 42c Core 2 42c this is at default settings. I wonder if that's because my lowest bios voltage is 1.35v;however CoreTemp VID: 1.1125v. I tried both cpu's and got the same temps.
    Need some help here please.

    my setup:
    in9-32x max (bios 1.4 beta 4)
    cpu: e8400
    ram: geil 4gb (2x2) 5-5-5-15 1T 800mhz
    gpu: evga 8800gtx
    hdd: seagate 320gb sata2
    psu: 880 coolermaster
    heatsink Enzo-120x Ultrax
    thermal paste MX-2

Don't worry, it's a known issue. Almost every motherboard is reporting a wrong temp. for the chip. We'll just have to wait a bit for them to fix it.

I had mine 47C idle at stock volts on ABIT IP35 PRO and Foxconn Mars.
I bet something is wrong with the reading

Think many 45nm are plagued by this bad readout... my QX9650 idles too at around 45°C , though under load it only goes up to 50°C, if I pump up the voltages and let it rip at 4ghz temps don't budge... pretty ty for me as I like to keep an eye on everything, now I'm left in the dark as I have no clue what this CPU is really running at....
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I'm pretty curious why those reviews can come up with comparisons of temps when the motherboards can't even report it correctly. All of us here can't be wrong.

We shouldn't be trusting so much of reviews I guess

you have to buy a temp probe or temp gun
