what power supply are you using? you may be right in thinking you were stable before you overclocked your video card.

I am using Antec Truepower trio 650w. I would really like it stable at 3.6, i think i have more testing to do
*edit*
But since i got some crashing in orthos doesnt that mean its not the video card?
It was fine in orthos before added the pci card 2ide hd's and 1 sata hd

On our board... in order to increase the Mhz of the memory Ram... the only factor is the Vdimm?
Of course i am not talking about a tight FSB:RAM ratio...
I have the following ram:
http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/conf...G&promo=hx2shp
Even with a 2.25 volt on them and 3:4 ratio, i can't get them over 870 MHz...
Any suggestions? (or my dimm sucks?)

I believe what he's saying is that you may not have enough power. I know in the past I had an Opteron 148 that could do 3.1GHz+, but after a while of video card upgrades I found the CPU would barely do 2.9GHz. Turns out I was over-loading the PSU, and in turn starving the CPU.
An easy way to check would be to put a basic video card in and try to OC it. If the basic vid card (which draws less power) allows your OC to be more stable, then your PSU may need to be upgraded.

I have my Q6400 OCed to 3.2 ghrtz, at a 1:1 ratio using OCZ DDR2800 2 gigs platinum revision 2 RAM. I want to throw in another 2 gigs of the same ram, would that impede my OC or affect it in any way? would i have to reduce my overclock?
Anyone tried some clocking E8400\8500 with this mobo yet? Speculating about buying one E8400, and i am waiting for x48 asus mobos.
I have tried a E8400. Works fine with latest beta bios. With 1,65v to Northbridge it is stable in 400x9=3,6GHz. E8400 on standard voltage 1,2v. When going higher the board gets unstable. I cannot boot above 409Mhz FSB. Over that the FSB sets to 69MHz
Sometimes it stops at bios for about 30sec before booting OS. Did not have that problem with E6600. Hopefully ASUS releases non beta BIOS with support for Wolfdale.
Do you know which are the CPUs supported by the new BIOS?
On Asus website, CPU support page, nothing can be found as for the new bios 2602.
My principal interest is to see if finally QX9650 is officially supported by this main![]()

Can someone with a E8400 at 3.6GHz post your 1meg SuperPI score?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I have the same CPUwith teh same problems, i tried ocing to 415 mhz and the fsb went all the way down and cpu was running at like 650 mhz and i had to reset the cmos lol.
So you say you use 1.65v? i just switched mine to that last night. mind posting your other voltages? I'm trying to stabilize mine too and would love to know your voltages. thanks!
when i turn off the switch of the psu and then turn it on, the pc boots up!
why does this happen? How can i prevent this "auto-boot"?
you can disable it in the BIOS to. it's called Power On After Failure or something like that.
