anybody got any results for q750A fpo batch chips
Can anyone tell me if current mobos would report Wolfdale temps correctly? I'm getting 47C idle and 70C load on a Foxconn Mars
Intel Inside
any good 8200 results ? like 4200 mhz ?

Hi
Main just arrived E8400 Q744A698
And I've got problem.
I set up 400x9, Vcore default, MCH 1.33 and my PC don't wanna start.
It is post:CPU was changed and it is unworkeble - check CPU soft menu.
What it's going on- any ideas?
even when I set vcore 1.34V it's the same.
My Mobo - Abit IP35 - rest in my sig.
GA Z87 X OC // 4670K // 2x4 GB Samsung Green // Intel 520 180 GB SSD // Noctua NH-U14S // Seasonic X660W // Phantom 630 // win7 64
ok it is better now
I've got BIOS ver.14
It is working now 399x9 vcore 1.325 in BIOS and MCH 1.41v - Lets see what orthos say.
I've tried 445x9 1.425V in BIOS and MCH 1.45v but after 45 sec otrhos failed.
Strange is when I set vcore 1.4v in BIOS Abit EQ shown me 1.31v - it means 0.09 vdrop.
How you've set up voltages in BIOS?
Sorry for my English but I'm from Poland
And maybe it is important my VID is 1.0375

I have all the usual things disabled in the BIOS, but when I boot at x9 multi it resets it to x6 once into windows, works fine at x8 multi as the above screenshot shows.
Decided to update the BIOS to the latest release 1302 and thought I had killed the board, finally managed to get it up again but still the same problem with the multi, guess I am going to have to wait for Asus to release an updated BIOS

Yeah I'd like to see that too. Though sad, it would be helpful to see a record of wolfdales that died and what it took to kill them.
I was thinking...my cpu never reads below 40c...
How is this gonna affect coldbug?
-31c outside, -46c with windchill...
How about other owners with T in FPO/Batch...what's the minimum temps you see?
time for outside benching!
I'm a T owner, and proud of it! It is near freezing in Vancouver, but it is nice and warm inside. Despite that my cores idle at 38/36C (450 x 9) and showed about 32C at stock...if you can believe CoreTemp.

steilos confirmed in this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=174821
that he and his friends tested like 8 cpu, and all showed degrations within days, 1 of them used only 1.41v, and some days ago i saw a guy talking about that his cpu was death in 6 hours with just like 1.45vcore....
I am abit skeptical about this, I have yet to see problems with f.e. Q6600s or nobody reports them, but in this short time after release there are already peeps reporting problems.. . altho is wont hold off my Wolfdale that comes tomorrow.
Ah well I think this is maybe abit to early to say tho, we need some time to figure it out....

mines dead i beleive. at stock i could boot fine then when i oc'd to 4.5ghz my fans spun up and then went off. back to stock and all is ok. oc again to 4ghz the same happens (fans spin up then off) so i just try upping the volts with no oc and BOOM..... psu explodes.
I've tried my e8500 in a D33FB intel board and when i press the power button i just get fans spin - fans off - fans spin - fans off... etc etc
i was only using 1.4v on the VTT - 1.4v CPU and 1.5NB.
i was running my e6600 @ 1.50000VTT - 1.6v. cpu and 1.6v NB before that for months with no problems so im ruling out any kind of other failure other than the cpu.
this all happened within 3 hours of putting the chip into my machine;
i've had to RMA my psu today and ive potentially got to warranty my board and CPU aswell as i have a scrambled bios error message![]()
since i spent £200 on the e8500 i EXPECT that i can overclock without it blowing my hardware to hell.
Q6600s are 65nm while E8000s are 45nm.

My 8500 arrived today. It is a 745A and has VID of 1.000V
At 1.184v it will run Superpi32M at 4GHz which is good. Less good is that I am having to use my retail Intel fan as I broke my normal heatsink putting it on. Noob alert. Also this P5K is struggling at 500FSB, it must think it is an nvidia 680i.
I think I am in for a long night ahead of struggling
As for the tales of death, well this is a new process. When chips are going out of the factory at 1v and you stick 50% more through then it might not be surprising that degredation is occuring. If you are benching for a short time then ok, if it is your main machine then you might as well play safe and stick with say 33% overvolt or less than 1.4v.
Regards
Andy
