Mind you... a test with the ATi on a X38 board & the GTs on a 680i/780i will give pretty much the same numbers...
What is lame for both companies ( ATi & nVIDIA ) is the whole delay game ( which is "right" in their way ) and ATi's inability to compete in the high end sector...and in a timely manner.
