Man 1 of my DC rigs is down due HDD corruption and my other DC rig is down because I can't get SMP to work on Vista. Arrrgh!

ouch that sucks. I've never set up the SMP in vista but I've heard there is a little trick to do to get it working. Can't remember what it is though.

I'm a C2D down right now, left my old job last week & the PC that went with it. Shame 'cos that was my uptime PC too (before the project ended), I think it stayed up & folding for 100 days straight once, with me using it 9 hours a day too, not bad for an XP box imo

I'll dust out an A64 or something this week & put it on the folding shelf at home to make up for it

Poor production? Hey now, anything and everything counts! Not like you have that poor of production right now anyway

Speaking of production though, I just realized I had turned the PC on today (after high winds causing brief power outages last night and while the UPS would keep the PC running the annoying beeps it would make wasn't pleasant to try and sleep through!) but forgot to start up F@H again THAT was brilliant

    Team moved to 62

We're up a spot chasing Angra and have overtaken motherboards.org Good work team! Huge effort and thanks!

We Have a chance to catch him... he will stall at 58 for a little while when he overtakes that position as there's some folks coming in behind him... so let's make sure we get the chance to pick his pockets before he gets a second wind....

Super consistent results by Angra, day after day... we have our work cut out for us...

My SMP's are back up running solid now. In a few weeks I'm building a quadcore rig for my bro and it'll be pumping out WU's too. Also tax season it creeping up.

Ah yes tax season... guess I had better get that filed pretty soon here, especially the collected sales tax from the business (unless I want to pay a $10 late fee).

The new rig added to my f@h line up.

It'll prime for a day or so first but it should be up and crunching by tomorrow night.

Looks like a nice unit Twig, congrats.

I don't really think prime stresses any more than Orthos really though I tend to use prime with large in place whatevers...

Orthos uses an older p95 algorithm, and if only for the ease off use off the new multithreaded prime95 I would recommend it. Small inplace FFT's heat the cpu the most btw afaik.

There has been affinity problems among people running orthos to iirc?

A Tuniq atm, waiting on the TRUE to get shipped.

Marvin, thanks for the link, I'll give it a run. I'm just using whatever proggy I had on my external HDD right now.

As for heating up the CPU the most, I'd have to say S&M it by far the most demanding CPU stresser I've seen to date. I hate that program lol.

Thanks U&G, but its not my computer. I built it for my brother but he'll let it fold. He also gave me over 900$ worth of stuff for building tho.

    Haven't you tried StressCPUv2

That's worse and great for (SMP-)folder testing IMO

Well I showed my bro how badass his new computer was and he asked how I liked it lol. I told him how much it sucks going back to my measly AMD DC rig so he just overnight the same exact rig for me!

So tomorrow I'll have another C2Q rig folding. My brother is the best ever!
