All information is in the thread and as much as it sucks, I reccomend reading the whole thing

    But here goes...

#1: Me, no, others yes, make a difference? No Idea.
#2: Depends on the proc but most would say yes, at the bleading edge it will net you results.
#3: I have no idea off hand.

I am having probs nailing down 4.5Ghz @ 1.42Vcore. Seems like it is GTL related as nothing seems to fix the prob and I have run 32m Super Pi at 550x7, and at 500x9 having issues?

I am on the latest Beta, but might switch to latest public release.

Just got home from class and didn't have time to do anything (sucks going back to college, well only sometimes)! There is never enough time in the day to do all the things I want! Anway come hell or high water I'm intalling my new E8400 tomorow! By the way turtletrax 4.5Ghz is pretty darn impressive on only 1.42v, especially your 550 x 7 and 500 x 9! I just hope my luck is as good! My E8400 is a Q746A381, packed on 01/04/08. Will post back soon!

#1 I got mine plugged into the lower slot. Not sure if it makes a diff.
#2 I had to tweak mine for stability @ 3.6ghz. Not even sure if i have em tweaked properly. No one can seem to give me an answer and the GTL ref charts available make no sense to me.
#3 I have no idea. From what i have read and the results i have looked at nobody seems to be making adjustments to it.

I do believe Praz has run it with all 4 dimms filled without an issue.

^^ thanks ill look into that with him..

also why do almost every review i read of this mobo say their max fsb was around 490-500... i see everyone here with a higher fsb.. so i know it can do it. is it just that they dont push hard enough or spend the time etc.. again just being curious

Funny because alot of the reviews I've read put the max FSB a bit higher. Up around 530Mhz-550Mhz with decent cooling (high-end air or decent watercooling). Of course with better cooling I've heard of 600FSB+ but havn't found the CPU-Z verification yet? Even some of the more mainstream review sites and magazines have pushed upwards of 520Mhz-535Mhz!

IMO most reviews use a good batch of chips or are using the ES.
Praz even got around 550+ on air with this board.

i have all 4 slots with 1gb. 2 x g.skill hz, and 2 x tracer 8500. i have run them at 1180, 5/4/5/15, 2.31v bios (2.24 windows) no prob, but i am still screwing around with my clockspeed, havent tweaked ram yet.

The 530 to 550 range sounds about right to me. I'm working on 541x8 at the moment with the same E6600.

It's not the mobo that's the problem, i seriously doubt that the mobo can't do even 600MHz+ fsb, it's the cpu that can bring the fsb wall.

I don't think it's worth swapping a E6x50 that can do 3.8GHz 24/7 for a wolf that can do 200MHz more or a bit better, you won't feel that difference. I would save money for a good quad.

Besides, even the lowest E8200 is around ~150 euros, while the E8500 with the x9.5 multi is around ~250 euros in Germany not to mention that the E8600 with the x10 multi will be even more...somewhat if you have a E4x00 or E21x0 you can swap them for Wolfdale, but if you have a good 65nm E6750/E6850 it's just not worth the money, i mean now i can sell my for a decent money and add some more for a Wolfdale but i reckon not much improvement there.

Quick question about the fan headers. My board is on it's way home (yay), and I'm trying to get everything setup in my mind(fans, tubing, the fun stuff). I was wondering if anyone used speedfan to control the fan speeds, and if you do, is each fan header controlled manually?

I noticed on motherboardpro's website, it's listed as
1 4x1-pin FAN connector for CPU, 2 3x1-pin FAN for Chipset, and 3 for Chassis
DFI's website just states it's 6 fan headers.

I could potentially have a few different fans that would change their speed according to the heat in the area that it affects. So, are the 3 chasis fans on 1 channel, chipset fans on another, then CPU on it's on fan channel, or is each fan header it's own channel?

Yeah, i've put 5 fans total on the mobo connectors for the case and 1 for the cpu HS and they all can be controlled via SpeedFan. Just pin them to the mobo and the program gives you control options.
