does the new bios support 0.5 multi? will this board have any problems with the Penryns?

isn't the PostCode 8 mean keyboard checking?
Not the entire 8 is lighting up, just only 1 of the LED's of 1 of the digits is lighting up. Like each digit is made up of 7 LED's and only the bottom right one is lighting up. I don't think it has an significant meaning though, but it's right when it turns on and doesn't boot.
just being curious here why i dont see a lot of people using these mobo's for ultra high oc's im not saying 24/7 ones im talking about just for benching... or maybe i missed them. thanks
If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.
My new E8400 just arrived about 20min ago after ordering it from newegg less than 24hrs ago, thanks newegg! I also got a new kit of Corsairs PC3-14400 to go with the Maximus Extreme I bought. Although I was just going to build up the new board I will first try installing the E8400 into my DFI P35 to see what luck I have. I assume you guys who are having troubles have updated the BIOS to newest official release which adds support for new Intel chips (I could be wrong but think the last official release also adds support)? Anyway that might be a good place to start (BlueAqua).
Unfortunetly I've got my first classes of the semester today so I won't be able to play until later thisafternoon. With that said I will post results ASAP after I get home to let you know how my board faired with the new chip! If you end up getting it working please update the thread so I can take advantage of your advice in my own build?

please do post results.. i am waiting for a e8500 now and thinking about this mobo.. going quad soon but want to play with the e8500 for a while..
I am using bios 12/24(I think that's the latest official bios release) and my E8400 was working, but only sometimes. Besides the bootup issue I'm having the rest is working great. Max FSB with it seems to be about 560 Mhz. I hooked up my phase change to it to see what I could squeeze out of it but it failed to boot no matter what I did or what bios I used, I just don't know what is causing this.

AS C-N said it's finding a capable cpu to match up with the board.

When everyone is beating the crap out of this motherboard, I say we take a moment and smell the flowers. Lets reminisce how good looking this monster motherboard is.
@emoners
Thanks for the board man! Can't wait to get this thing up and running!

that is a sweet looking mobo lol.. of course i know it will vary depending on the cpu.. just wanted to make sure its capable of anything i want to throw at it before hand. i assume with the 8 phase psu this will also do better longer term at higher levels correct...one of the thins swaying me to this over the dark version lp..

sweet it looks like at higher fsb's it is very solid and stable while doing so. i def want a board that will live a while under some stress lol.. seems to be a issue with some lesser mobo's living a long life..
and long term use while at that oc seems to be okay for it praz? i have seen a few blood iron threads with melted boards around the fets one reason i stepped up the $$ budget for the mobo..also how is the lt p35 doing compared to the x38 variant.. is the p35 still the way to go..
I don't have voltage settings handy for that screenshot but this one has all settings at 500 FSB. And all these settings are fine for 24/7 with a dual-core. A quad-core might be a different story although any that will run at these FSB speeds are few and far between.

as i said i have seen a few blood iron fets melted.. so i was hoping this would be better 24/7 ....am i correct here thanks everyone for the input
Nice cpu bleach, good score.![]()
does everyone use the 4 pin floppy connector over the top pci ex slot? will tweaking the gtl settings increase my clockspeed? what is the clockgen voltage adjustment used for?
