    Q6600 findings

    Hi Guys,
Been waiting ages to get activated so I can share some finding with the Q6600.
    Ok I have the following:

    P5N-T Deluxe 0502
    Q6600 G0
    2G Corsair Dominator PC-8500 C5
    2 x 8800GTX
    Tagan 800W SLI PSU
    Vista 64

Ok this is some info I've learned about this board, to try and help with some of the probs people are having.
I have found that this motherboard undervolts the CPU (my Q6600 has a VID of 1.235 and if left to auto the board will only supply it with 1.2v) This will allow me to get into windows ok but will randomly lock up, and would cause problems with installing windows like people are having. If this board isnt reading the VID properly and ur chip has a higher VID, say 1.3, then if its only supplying it with 1.2 ur not going to get anywhere fast.
So firstly increase ur Vcore in the bios and leave everything else on auto.
    Second turn off the following:
    CPU Internal Thermal Control
    Limit CPUID Maxval
    Enhanced C1E
    Speedstep

For people who want to overclock I'm currently running @ 3.375 Ghz solid, here are my setting:

    AI Tuning - Manual
    GPU EX - Disabled
    SLI Ready - Disabled
    Linked/Synced 3/2
    FSB - 1500
    Mem - 1000
    Auto Memory timings
    Spead Spectrum - Disabled
    Vcore - 1.3625v
    CPU VTT - Auto
    Mem - Auto
    NB BR04 - Auto
    1.2 HT - 1.3v
    NB - 1.45v
    SB - Auto
    GTLREF - Auto

Using Asus Probe it reads the Vcore as 1.32-1.34v and this is consistent with the bios reading, however, either Everst or CPU-Z reads it @ 1.26v! Either this board has MASSIVE Vdroop or nothing can read the bios poperly.

Stock runs fine as long as u set the Vcore manually....3Ghz wont post....3.2Ghz works but I couldnt get stable.......3.4Ghz is fine with these settings............3.6Ghz wont post.......3.8Ghz posts but wont go into windows. Massive FSB holes i think!

If you want to run RAM at 1000+ make sure you bump up the NB, this was THE limiting factor to get it stable
