    That little sucker works great, and fits for crossfire, all copper, with fan. Silent as well. Have to remove 1 copper fin (will be intuitive when you try to place it) due to the placement of one of the caps on the board.

    I have to mount a new mosfets cooler from Mips on the board, what would be best..?

    probably ceramique, but depends upon the boughing of the board, and contact on all the mosfets, get both, and then if you need the thermal pad you have it.

    pull it up after placing it, if you have ceramique spead thinly on all the mosfet points you are good to go, if not, and some of them do not make good contact, have to go the other route.

    Bad idea you got there PRJ, I did it yesterday with AS Ceramique and if you read view post's before I got no good news from it. Before I use to have LOAD temps max 48c and now I rich 58c in just 2 minutes of Prime95. So if your temp's are under 50c I wouldn't get to it. Read this post http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=1262
    and good luck with it I'm going to reapply the Ceramique now and hopping t's getting better.

    hi guys!

    The situation appears a little better than th elast once...Now i've setted "nominal" on ch1 under the menu "clock fine delay" and i've setted maully the ddr2 timngs 5-5-5-18 with 2,2 v for pc1066....now i'm on windows and ie without ie errors....but with only one stick of 1 Gb....mmm

    For praz:...but the chipset required 2 boot with the default parameters too?...
    and must i increase the voltage on NB?

    thx guys...

    Initial apply of power will always require a double boot with the X38 chipset regardless of operating parameters.

    Because of NB latency and register settings some dividers will require more voltage then others.

    Most any fluke is going to be of better quality and accuracy then most other meters out there. The price is going to range from about $130.00 to $550.00. Go to Fluke's website and look at the comparison chart of the different meters. Then we can look at any disadvantage the one you decide on might have.

    guys,

    what direction are you mounting the thermalright ultra extreme 120 on the dfi?

    Am i right - i can mount this so the fan and fins is in line with the case fans, but i can also mount it so it blows vertically ?

    G.

    I have a mystique 632s case with two 120mm, in and out as well as a side duct.

    hi guys...

    I've tested another stick of crucials PC8500 tracer....and all is...OK!....this result with these settings (on the last official bios)

    - I've sette manually 2,2 V for my tracer at 1066 Mhz

    - I've setted manually 5-5-5-15 for my ddr2

    - I've setted "nominal" on ch1 under the menu "clock fine delay"

    the only bad thing is the initial double boot....the fake boot!...And i've increase the NB voltage but nothing!....have i done a good thing praz?

    Now i have a BIG question:

    - Is it possible that i must work on the options of "fine clock delay" for to be stable the sistem at the default settings?....

    With the chipset the double boot at initial power up cannot be stopped. The board should run at default settings without having to adjust clock delays.

    It is only overvolting by .0052volts why would that be a problem? and I can assure you the amount of overvolt is way less than the innacurracy of the sensors.

    OU ?!

    I am still not sure (i just looked at it in a hurry) whether it actually fits so it blows horizontally...because on the LT with this small tower NB heatsink...would this fit ?

    Also..IF i do it vertically then defintly blowing up to the PSU towards the PSU fan...if i'd to let it blow down i have two opposite fans, PSU sucking up and right below CPU fan blowing down......this wouldnt make sense at all.

    If i can i would just let it blow sidewards..towards rear fan...but as said i dont know if this would fit..i guess i just have to mount that stuff and see myself.

    okay after spending abit more time in the bios, Ive spotted a little pattern in the northbridge voltages...

    1.417v --->1.44v
    1.430v ---> 1.45v
    1.444v ---> 1.68v
    1.456v --->1.69v

    This is like the overvolting thing ,isnt it?

    well that would mean i need to have the fans sitting on the top of my heatsink no? my machine is horizontal on a desk
