Nothing else besides that in changelog? That's what I was looking forward to....

    However... It's there!

    I am trying it.
So far, it looks like the "leacked" 1401 ones... I don't see any difference

No improvements (actually worse) over either 1303 or 1305 for me. I flashed back, even with an X-Fi running here.

    DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!!

It's garbage. I flashed my system with it from the 1303 that I was previously running and when it rebooted after flashing, my PC would reset every 5 seconds and could not get back into the bios to flash it with another ROM.

I pretty much thought the flash failed and my board was toast but after about 2 hours of trying to get the bios settings back to default, I was able to re-flash.

Even after finally getting the CMOS to reset, i could not get the 1401 bios to boot past the initial vista loading screen.

Well.... I'm back running 1303 and happy. I'm not going to be another guinea pig for Asus's crappy bios releases. With all the crap I had to deal with to get my PC back up and running again... it's just not worth it.

Bios 1501 is unofficially available on a german forum, flash is at own risk, yorkfield seems to run even at 400FSB on the Striker Extreme... I charged the bios I'll put it on my ftp this afternoon, though yet again flash at own risk as it's not an official beta...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

ASUS Striker Extreme unofficial BIOS 1501 support yorkfield but not change multiplier over 9x! and FSB low overclock, not boot the system over 1600 mhz FSB in my test! We hope the 1502 or later bait!

Are you saying this is a faulty BIOS or that it simply cannot work on OCed systems?

I have installed the 1401 on my system.
and so far all is well.
    E6850 @ 3.6 w/ RAM at 1:1 with 5-5-5-15.
I have the G.Skill, but I was getting occasional/random lockups when running RAM at 1000Mhz. I have to wonder if thats becuase the G.Skill wants the tRC timing set to 45, but the Asus board will only provide up to a 30........
But, 1401 is up, and running like a champ on this system (for now)

I'm using the 1401 bios linked above and can't get over 420Mhz FSB with my new E8400. Looks like this CPU isn't officially supported either, works but says I need to update my bios to obtain full performance from my CPU. I wish Asus would just release an official 45nm bios, even if it is just dual core.

It's always 6 whenever I look at it in the bios. I can however change it to 9 but it will only stick if I enable Intel Speedstep Technologoy (I think that's what it's called).

So fun running at 3780 at 1.4v on air I can run everything I want and it's stable but even with a lower multi I can't get the fsb any higher.

    1401 Here

Went from 1303 up to 1401. It seems decent. My previous settings were

    CPU: E6600 @ 3.6 400x9 and ram 800 - 4-4-4-10-1t.

Would not boot at those settings regardless of what I do. Keep getting IDE DET.

went to defaults boot just fine. So I bumped the FSB to 450 (450x8), ram at 900 4-4-4-10-1t still and it booted but when it gets to Xp boot screen it crapped out and showed all kinds of funny colors. Rebooted and bumped NB voltage from 1.4 to 1.5 and seems to have fixed the problem. Running Orthos right now for stability. So far so good.

It also allowed me to boot with my Razer Tarantula keyboard plugged in. Before on 1303, I had to unplug my keyboard till it gets into windows or it'll get a USB something error on the lcd in the rear. 1305 would reboot as soon as I plug in my keyboard regardless if I'm in windows or not. So far, not sure why it won't run @ 1600 fsb but 1800 seems just fine.

BleuAqua - how you managed a 9x multi? And what bios are you using?

With 1401 I could change the multiplier and it would stay if Intel Speedstep Technology was enabled(this doesn't make any sense to me), but it worked.

Max FSB I could reach with 1401 was 420, anything over that it wouldn't even post. I tried 1501 sent to me by a good friend and it has worked absolute magic for me on wolfdale. Max overclock before of 3780 is now 4410 or so with a max FSB of ~515. I am really impressed with how well 1501 works, the multiplier option is in a different spot and works great for me, flawless actually. This brings new life for my Striker.

I was expecting some hickups but surprisingly enough it's been wonderful for me on my Wolfdale. I can't say anything for quad or Yorkfields specifically but I could try my QX6700. It's funny, I've never had as good of success with any other bios like I've had with 1501.

Is it worth it to go from 1305 with an E6850 (1600 FSB / 1000 RAM) to the 1401 or 1502 bios? I do have an X-FI Fatal1ty but havent noticed any problems with it (unless thats what caused my random cod4 freeze, but i thought that was heat cause opened the cold window then its fine)..

I would love to push the chip farther but i dont think i can.
