So your seller was guessing before testing 'em?
What's the max FSB you got out of them on air, 500?

We've test on the weekend again, but said news, now it's sure that our wr chip has coldbug on LN2, over done again 5.3+ on Foxconn MARS with DI, nothing more
but we've a good time and test some other stuffs (jugeen his QX9650, and try to bench with Tri-SLI, but Striker 2 died, P5N-T Deluxe don't boot on subzero heh)...

some of my results with the 8400, DDR3 and (stock cooled/vmodded) GTS 512
(max fsb was only around 580 on DI, maybe the mobo has fsb wall )

    32M

    AM3

    01

05 (over can't believe that DDR3 is so strong that gain more than 100mhz gpu clock )

    Cheers

I am also thinking about to get an E8400, what I can see from all these benches, it has a really good chance that they can around 4GHz with normal air cooling!

    Nice result, btw!

actually, yes... they are able to run up to 4G on aircooling, and retail's would be better oc's, so the HUNT begins

    thanks mate

We will got some retail chip's in this week i hope, so i'm curious about the wall problems...
yep, but with QX is soo easy multi up, fsb down...
    imagine a 32M time with a golden e8500 at 9,5*600+ on ln2 (with ddr3 of course)

I've got 2pcs of E8400 yesterday, same fpo's (Q744A761), and project "suxx" begins tested in 3 mobo's, Asus P5K3 Deluxe (bios 0810), Asus Blitz Extreme (bios 1005), Asus Blitz Formula (bios 1402)
i don't feel like upload the valid's, it's just my small report, beleive or not... i'm a bit upset with the results...
btw, cpu's was cooled with my custom D-TEK watercooling

    max fsb results with 6x and 7x multi, 333strap (1.65v pll, 1.75v nb, 1.40-1.50v fsb, 1.35v core):
    P5K3 Deluxe CPU#1: 536fsb
    P5K3 Deluxe CPU#2: 541fsb
    boot problems above 470fsb
    CPU#1 couldn't boot at 6x 7x 500fsb only 8x 9x multi
    CPU#2 couldn't boot at 6x 7x 8x 500fsb only 9x multi

    Asus Blitz Extreme CPU#1: 549fsb
    Asus Blitz Extreme CPU#2: 554fsb
cpu#2 was able to save bios and begin boot at 550fsb

    Asus Blitz Formula CPU#1: 556fsb
    Asus Blitz Formula CPU2#: 542fsb
everything is fine, no bugs find

    stability tests on 9x445fsb:

    P5K3 Deluxe CPU#1: 1.400v 15min prime pass
    P5K3 Deluxe CPU#2: 1.360v 15min prime pass
droop: 0.004v measured to the bios set (no droop mod!)

    Asus Blitz Extreme CPU#1: 1.370v 32M pass
Asus Blitz Extreme CPU#2: 1.350v no windows boot or freeze
droop: 0.03v measured to the bios set

    max frequancy at 1.60v core:

    P5K3 Deluxe CPU#2 4696MHz validation

Asus Blitz Extreme CPU#2 4639mhz validation

i'm testing the all day, but this results are very weird...
if i can figure out wich chip is the better one, i will test some max frequency, 1M, 32M and 3Dmarks... subzero benches at next week...

btw, very nice results Tim and MaSell, congrats
i can smell, if somebody will find an E8400 wich have no coldbug on Ln2 (and fsb wall of course), will beat our 5.4G soon

yep, i think i will try maximus extreme soon, so much people said it's one of the best mobo's now for ddr3, and the 1000mhz club list verify me at this
