well, not all E6850s can do 500FSB, have tested more than i care for around 470-490FSB walls.

as for this motherboard doing 500FSB, it isn't a problem...on the 1:2 ratio with pretty much any strap. once you start using other ratios which 99% of people are going to have to, 500FSB+ becomes an issue.

i also found last night that there is an internal timing change when booting somewhere after 507FSB...not a strap change like the 400FSB change on Asus P965 boards but likely just a memory timing change that can't be seen. memory bandwidth drops and so does SPi times so something is definitely changing that can't be seen in the BIOS timings or Memset. why can't Asus just let us control what happens and when dammit...this kind of thing frustrates me to no end.

    LoL

I hear you but they have gotten much better.
I am not a fanboy of any particular vendor but in all honesty I have had some great success with ASUS equipment and don't really have any complaints with the ME. Its doing what I wanted...

I bought this MOBO for xfire and high overclocks and it hasn't disappointed me...

yeah, i shouldn't complain. i bought the ME for clocking memory and well...it is a monster in that department.

i wish it was better at high FSB for benching but the memory ratios are all buggerd except 1:2 and that will only take you so far with any kit of memory...and i have some good ones. the ratio problem is an issue with X38 as i understand it, not this particular board.

the P5K3-Dlx is a much better suited board for high FSB benching because the 5:8 ratio actually works well and allows for 570FSB+ without problem with very good performance. i guess if i can afford this board i should be able to afford a un-locked multi chip
