ok so here we go testing tonight is

with NB at 1.61volts cpu is at 1.55 volts
fsb is 390mhz or rated fsb of 1560mhz
cpu is at 3.9ghz stable occt at 30min
temp on cpu is some where equal or below -22c jin unit temp is at -22c during the test.
NB was at 21c for first 8min or load then down to 20c for the last 17min or load and room temp is 24.6c

    loop is MCP655, MCR220 QP, PA120.3, 2 x EK-Mosfet ASUS 3a (X38), EK-NB S-MAX, EK-NB/SB ASUS 3 then back to pump

    Thanks for the post.

We will be a sport and call your current max loaded NB temp 20c due to that is what you settled into as OCCT ran, and your TIM may still be settleling in a bit too.

    Origional post updated.

30 minutes of hard processing is certainly good enough to make an entry on our NB heat chart. I believe that was about as hot as your chip was going to get.

I also updates the OP with the blocks currently out for the Maximus.
Please let me know if this is not correct:

I believe this is still current:

I just emaild the guys up at SpeedFan to see if i can get a little more insight into configuring SpeedFan to read the NorthBridge thermal diode with the Maximus SE.

Does anyone know if the NorthBridge's input is on the (W83627DHG WINBOND) chip or the (ADT7475 Thermal Monitor and Multiple PWM Fan Controller) chip???

I know the CPU and System temps come through WINBOND, but i think thats it. so im not sure ware the NB is.

Does Asus's AI Suite also read out temperatures?

Perhaps you can run both to match which thermal diode is which chip...

    Hey Scooby,

you may remember me about asking about your heatsinks and all and you may not remember me. anyways, that looks awesome stuff, very nice and neat, but may i ask what size tubbing are you using?

to me it looks like 1/2"

Yes I remember and yup, their 1/2"ID 3/4"OD tubing. Thanks

Note: if you guys are going to use the Thermalright HR-09U Type 2 on your mosfets especially the one by the I/O plate side you will notice that the two capasitors make for a tight fit when installing the heatsinks. I took a Dremel to one of the fitting and sanded it down a bit to thin it down and BAM!!! When Installing it did not even touch the capasitors. Sorry no pics but I thought for those of you who want to do this should know.

thanks for that, i love the way it looks, nice and beefy

As for the capacitors are they the blue ones next to the I/O plate in the first picture you posted?

    Thanks for thi info Scooby!

    Your system is looking sweet.

Your words of wisdom have been added to the origional post in this thread.

(I added it into another post of yours I was quoteing already)

Tha Caps you speak of or colored red on my board, but blue on yours. Odd... (Marked 271 16v)
In fact, 100% of my caps are colored red on my mobo.

It looks like it was headding that way, the longer you ran....

Too bad it dosen't always work that way!

FYI - Still looking for an answer on this...

You should note that you can only use thin-wall 1/2" tubing with their 1/2" compression fittings. You can also use 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD but it fits so snugly it will be frustrating and possibly damaging to get tightened or untightened. I really recommend 1/16" wall thickness tubing with Koolance 1/2" compression fittings which really limits your tube routing to large bends.

The 3/8" Koolance compression fittings are compatible with all 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD tubing.Cheers,-Chris.
Am I going to have a problem with my Tygon 1/2" R-3603 fitting into the EK's compression fittings on the NB block?

I see in posted that thin walled 1/2" line is better with compression fittings, or at least the koolance ones.

ok so with a quad i can get max speed so far of 3.95ghz im running 3.9ghz stable no issues and at 4.0ghz can't post at all
this is all with the 907 bios and i have been tryign a little here and there and if you look at my setup cpu temp no issue due to being about -27c and NB temp is around 20c under load so its ether this cpu's limit or the bios needs a update or major tweeking.

    3.95GHz is a super OC.

If it is a BIOS wall, you probably won't have to wait too much longer until the next one is released. ASUS has been releasing them at a pritty good clip.

I say relax and enjoy your 3.9 for a while, until the next one comes along.

By the way, what GHz is 444x8.5? Is it 3.77GHz? I want to fix weescott's CPU entry on the NB listing.

Does anybody know what the NB voltage is set to on the 'green setting'? DerekFSE cound not tell how to get that info at the time of his post.
I would like to fix that entry too. I am sure it was set to whatever it defaults to. He never changed it.

A bit more tweaking got the CPU down to 65C and NB 39C at the same clocks. I know this CPU's good for more but it's going to take some more cooling. I was thinking the core temps were bad because of some problem with my loops, not sure now I've seen similar on a 3.25GHz E2160, might try putting an E2140 in to see how temps are on this CPU. at equivalent clocks.

Green on the NB is up to 1.5V iirc

If that was for the listing, I don't know to find your NB temp, and am not sure if that was loaded or idle.
If you did have your NB stressing, fill this line out fror me and please repost.
