Testing on this mobo, OCZ 2x 2Gb RAM (rated: 5-4-4-15 @ DDR800) oC'd to DDR1000 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 2.22v in 1:1 with same 4GHz @ 500x8 as in sig. Also added the RAM in sig along side with good results of performance for a total of 6GBs in dual channel. In 6GB config, Hibernate was disabled in all settings of remapping and such.

Can anybody using (as seen by Windows) 4GB of RAM and able to get the Hibernate Tab in power options or device manager shut down menu? If I enable "Memory Remap" and reboot I get Hibernate but now only 3.37GB as used by XP x64. If I now add the "boot" file fix (MAXMEM=4096) and leave memory remap enabled, I still have use of Hibernate but now only get use of 3.25GB RAM in XP x64. if I now leave the MAXMEM=4096 boot add on and disable memory remap I again still get Hibernate but back to 3.37GB RAM as used by XP x64, yet now the rambench scores are a little better then as before.

I also noticed that ram scores in Everest were worse if kleft to 4GB with scores dropped by as much 164MB/s read & 9MB/s write.

Just wanted to get soem user feedback since I see a lot of you running 4GBs RAM on this mobo.

    Thankx!
Well Idon't use the hibernate option, but as soon as HL2 finished installing I'll test it on Vista x64.......
BTW, are you referring to boot.ini adjustments for 4Gb RAM? This shouldn't be needed.......only the memory remap in the BIOS, and 4096 Mb should be detected in a x64 environment......
Have you checked with otehr applications other than right clicking on my comp\properties?

About PC Probe, what OS are you running? I would uninstall AI tweaker, or whatever it's called....I've yet to find a version that works yet :p
The only temp monitoring app I use is Everest Ultimate, and it reports everything accurately for me in Vista x64. I just reinstalled VIsta, so I haven't got to Everest yet.....but if you want the build I can get it for ya.

Well they're not needed, but an Intel support agent told me that he recommends installing them, even without RAID......according to the FAQ it is required to run AHCI to it's full potential.

I wonder if HD Tach is losing performance due to the fact that I have to run it in compatibility mode in Vista.....I'm going to try to install XP on my external drive later today......hopefully I'll check that out.

    Server 2008 RC1 x64. These burst speeds are incredulous. I'm running 2x160GB WDs (16MB cache) in Raid0.

YOu can do two things to avoid this DETDRAM issue:
    1) DOwnload this app and reprogram your SPD data to default to DDR2-800 or 667 5-5-5-15 and change the timings/frequencies manually in the BIOS after POSTing and setting the proper voltage
    2) Buy a stick of value RAM at a local place for $25 or so and put this stick in when you flash a new BIOS or have to clear the CMOS.....POST with this RAM, then change the voltage, then save and reboot, POST, then enter the BIOS and hard shutdown, then install your high performance RAM.
I am currently going with #2 for my RAM until I load XP to reprogram the SPD data. (driver isn't signed, so it doesn't work with Vista x64)
I'll try #2 and go from there, I picked up a stick of Super Talent 800 that will hopefully help.

The only problem is even after getting the right vdimms set before in 0505, I would restart the PC and have the same symptoms of Non-POST until 3 hour CMOS Clear. We'll see tonight.

MMM my baord just doesn't want to shutdown anymore,it always restarts,... like my P5W did in the old days when certain USB slots were used...

Any suggestions on that ? I had it with 0505, 0701 and still with 0907 bios... board runs fine at 400FSB, no issues regarding stability just the damn shutdown doesn't work...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Yes, the Windows boot.ini file, the switch you can check in msconfig. and yes, I checked with several apps. Everest and most other up to date utilities read as 3456MB. I understand about it not needing the switch. As I said it does see the 4GB if remap is disabled and maxmem swtch unchecked. However, the main reason for post is stricktly for use of Hibernate. the extra 600+ ram is not woth it to me if I can enter S3 plus the loss of read/write times.

So right now, I'm at Memory remap Enabled and MAXMEM switch on to 4096 and it se and uses 3456MB (3.37GB). I get S4 (suspent to hard drive, Hibernate) with emap on or off now. only if DFF, system only gets 3.25GB RAM then.

    Intel RAID Ready, f6 Install
This exactly what I've been posting several times before for those interested.

AHCI is built in RAID functions , so enabling RAID and using as single or multiple drive in a NON Raid is the same as selecting AHCI in BIOS. Only with AHCI only, you cannot migrate to RAID (rebooting and changing to RAID is no good since the RAID driver is not there) and must reinstall (or fix as I posted way back) to get the iostar 82801 driver installe. and then use Matrix Storage Manager.

Tha Intel Matrix Storage Manager utility does offer some smart drive features and does tend to boost performance, but you do not have to install it if you at least installed via the 66 floppy install with RAID enabled. You will still have the RAID BIOS set up option in BOOT BIOS and get AHCI mode in single, NON RAID drive config.

It doesn't fit if you have 2 fans on the TRUE, or the fan pulling through the TRUE over the back, not enough room.

Reboot into DETRAM. Have to clear CMOS for 3 hours again. So I got it back stable again, and flashed to 0907. Reboot to DET RAM...currently clearing CMOS, regardless of memory or "B Slot" trick, I have tried everything. New PSU, 4-pin vs. 8pin 12vEATX, you name it. My whole problem is Non-Overclock with Proper voltages for vdimm, and the same DET RAM restart.

So I called and setup an RMA, but I honestly don't think I can go that long without my PC. It is my life and my life has forsaken me. I deal with the USB Driver BSODs, I deal with the 4th times a charm restart loop, I deal with the fun of the initial out-of-box setup. I can't deal with 2+ weeks wait.

Are the new Revisions currently being carried on newegg? Will I lose my Raid array even though I'm within the same motherboard? I get this up and running and I'll never restart it again!

Edit: Sorry to hijack the thread, I'm just lost and in the middle of a pa120.3 + stacker 810 mod and now my board which is still in old case/system is acting up.
Post your bios settings please, I think I can help you with your DET RAM hang

Anyone else here experiencing that the board always reboots after selecting a shutdown in Windows... in fact the baord shuts down for about 3-4 secs then lits up again and posts ... only way to power it off is to pull the plug...

Tried different biosses, new install of windows , new drivers,...

    Is the board screwed ?

I hate to be a douchebag, but I just don't have the time to search through 200 pages (apart from the obligatory quick skim):
Does anyone know if there are problems with 2x1 or 4x1 sets of Ballistix when running the Asus Maximus Formula (standard)?

Thanks for your help, I'm back up and running and was able to use just 1 x 1GB GSkill to set the Bios properly for vdimm using 800mhz divider. Upon several restarts with 1 DIMM, everything seemed all systems nominal. Currently running Dual channel at 3.2 w/ 1066.

Thanks again . I'll keep you posted as things change....and there is no way in HELL I will restart this again!

No problems at all with 4x1Gb, other than a few unstable dividers, but if you get your board installed we can help you out with that....I know all the unstable settings for 4x1Gb
