Yeah, you need voltage manipulation or you can't expect any oc really.
Make sure you give some feedback to ASUS that their BIOS options are only lowering VIDS from stock and not changing the VCore as you need. Maybe they are aware of this and are purposely limiting the voltage on the board because it's not supported for oc and it might just do what the MOSFETs of the MSI CF did?
