    Heh.

Are you running tight memory timings?

Crysis really seems to like this

Currently running my 2 gig mem @ 445 mhz 3:5 divider

    Timings are: 3.3.3.9

    Subtimings: 4.30.7.10.10.10.8.8.4.2060T

Just run the GPU demo and got overall average of 21.4 fps over the 4 loops with all set to high @ 1920 x 1200 and AA @ 4x.....

This indicates a playable frame rate to me but I think the benchmark is not an accurate measure of a playable config... actual gameplay for the first two levels seems smooth.. thats all ive tested so far.

21fps isnt very playable to me. Not to mention that demo, since its merely a fly by type bench, will show a little faster fps than in game. I personally hate playing anything under 25fps.

That's not it, for me anyway. I'm happy to buy games like Crysis (good fun, not very expensive and lasts long enough) but I can't stand messing around with DVDs (hassle and sometimes noise).

I usually install games from a DVD, crack it then put the DVD safely away in its case so it never gets scratched. As far as I'm aware the game wont run from an image.

Actually I suspect it is the other way around - the benchmark is slower than gameplay.

SERIOUSLY MAN! Does Crytek/EA not have a QA department? Did they not use any sort of logic when they developed this game? I mean EVERY SINGLE FLYING GAME that uses the mouse in the history of gaming has set precedent to have the option to invert.......actually it normally comes inverted by default.....

Well I get better FPS in DX10 maxed out at 1920x1080, but it's not consistent......if I set the same settings from v1.0 running in DX9 (Crossfire required this to work, barely) I get much less FPS........I may be missing something, but ATM I'm highly pissed and may just abandon Crysis for a while.
I already beat it, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but when a company releases a game that has a MP that FAILS so horribly (when it could be great), and their patch actually does more harm than good, then something is wrong.......
BTW I installed Crysis right after a fresh re-install of Vista x64.......so theoretically it should run a little better.....

I know its an nvidia/Vista issue. And its a bunch of BS. And that creative x-fi not working with SLi/Vista64/4gb of ram is also BS.

Does the NV error you get cause Crysis to halt, then continue? Then occasionally it will CTD and say the NV.... has stopped working? That happened to me, but bringing back the OC a little fixed it right up.

    Slight OT:
My X-Fi worked fine on the EVGA 680i A1, 4GB, and Vista x64. Although it crackled like a champ on the Abit IP35 Pro, 2GB, and XP. I've found the biggest issue with that card to be the boards themselves. In my experience higher end Asus boards tend to be free of SCP, while value boards like the DFI Dark P965-S and Abit IP35 Pro very clearly exhibit the issue in GRAW, BF2, Bioshock, etc. Whether or not this is due to the higher PCB layer or not, I cannot answer as your IN9 is one of Abit's "Max" line. Do you know how many layers the PCB is? Have you tried other boards?

Well i haven't run any benches but i'm loving playing it. My jaw is on the floor everytime i progress in the game. Yes i've seen video's and screens but they don't do it justice. It runs fine on my GTX (yup didn't get a GT afterall) @ 1280 x 1024 maxed out.

Some goodness (some loss in quality)

Ok running in DX9 with the CVARs manually edited runs way better than DX10 for Crossfire....I don't think AFR mode or even supertililng is running in DX10.....scissor mode
I can see the tiles between loading maps when I'm in DX9.......

    EDIT:
This is crazy man I'm getting WAY better FPS with the same settings in DX9....I'm almost certain Crossfire doesn't work properly in DX10, or at least the right rendering mode............
Crossfire users in Vista stick with 'run as DX9' and mod the CVars to make high=very high on your options of choice.

@ takamishanoku: Is that running in DX10 with Very High, or modded CVAR DX9 very high? Looking good man :thumb:

Can you please run Relic in DX9 mode and tell us how are the fps at the beggining when Prophet is talking to you, and then looking directly at the following village from above? I have serious perfomance hit there, and is just pathetic.

And I agree, DX9 is WAY faster than DX10.

    So prove me wrong then!

I'm getting consistently higher framerates reported in fraps than with the benchmark... 25 fps most of the time but drops as low as 16fps if things get hectic!

    Grab Fraps here

Works well with Logitech G15 & the v202 software...

BTW I forgot to mention that the following are modded to very high:
    Textures
    Physics
Shaders (but not the Quality CVAR, as in the materials detail)
    Post Processing
VOlumetric effects (minus the sky lines seperating very high from high)
    Game effects
Sound Quality (I don't think I had that done in that run though, but shouldn't matter for FPS)

    Yes, that's it! Thx

So you don't have noticed anything strage in that mission? when I look to the village, 9 fps. When Prophet is talking to me, looks like CF is not working. Then I turn 90º to the left for example, 40 like you. Can you share your CVARs custom folder to test this thing with it?

BTW where you have taken those SS is exactly where I have the slowdown.

    You know what's happening there?

I'm monitoring my 3870 clocks and loads via Everest and a G15, and it's clocking down to 2d speeds in the Village level whenever even part of the village is visible, in both DX9 or DX10, but only when Crossfire is enabled.

Doesn't seem to be happening on other levels.
