What will this help? Why do you think I am having such a tough time when others have had an easy time? I have oc several other mobods and they were a piece of cake. This one is giving me fits.
What ratio do you think is good for this memory that I have (Ballistix 6400 4-4-4-12)? Do I dare push it over the 800 mark or for temp sakes just keep it below 800?
What is a good temp for memory to be at?

MCH is your memory/NB voltage and ICHIO 1.5 is your SB input/ouput voltage...ANY TIME you overclock beyond the original specs you are stressing all the sub-systems...SO...you need higher voltages to help with sending information to and from the various busses, and to the cpu...just as you need more vcore to overclock the cpu.

this board is a breeze to overclock...i had it and i am now on the DFI X38 which is HARD to find the right voltages and memory settings...BELIEVE ME...the PRO board is EASY to overclock over this POS DFI board that i have.

As I see others say the same thing. Still, do you think it could be my power supply? The corsair 620 has had some issues with board. Until I changed the power cord I could not oc at all.

CPU-z freezes desktop, while running uguru to me also.

Coretemp doesn't freeze, but regularly crashes (at least with 0.95 beta) when u have log enabled.

I can recommend 2 x 2GB Reaper-X PC2-6400 but I haven't finished overclocking yet! Been a busy christmas new year break! Some review sites claim to have achieved 1122MHz so they must clock alright!

Just finished leak testing my WC loop this week will try and hook it up before my lan tomorrow!

Took a preview pic of the secondary cooling loop starting to be fitted to the mobo. Evga 8800gt > southbridge > northbridge > custom mosfets block > 2x1200mm rad. CPU will have it's own loop with Fusion + 2x120mm rad. (yes, I know the SB doesn't really need watercooled, but this is XS isn't it? )

Main thing I hate about 100% completely new setups is there's always small things that hold you back. Add that to the holidays, and other projects, and you have frustration over it not being up & running yet

I have to break out the mini router table to clean up the top to the custom block, and that table is buried in the back corner of my garage . Those caps around the mosfets make it a tight fit.

Custom made waterblock on the PWM. I figured with all the stock sink problems as well as general PWM cooling issues with many mobos, I figured I'll just water cool it and be done with it.

Just a cheap webcam pic I took for a friend, will have better pics once I get everything going & make a build thread.

Is there anything out there yet that works with 64 bit that you don't need to go through the process they use? Coretemp will work but only with 32 bit without going through the process they suggest.

I'm having a bit of trouble

I'm using this motherboard with 4GB (2x 2GB) of the "approved" Patriot ram, a Corsair 550w psu, ATI Radeon 3850, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Liteon DVDR (sata version).

what's happening is that vista 64 freezes on bootup. I've got the 64 bit "installed" but this is the boot I'm trying to do after the install (first boot to finish installation) and it freezes.

Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

p.s.: tried changing ram channels and even taking one stick out and still no dice

on the 1st post screen push and hold the "Pause" key to see the bios number in the upper left hand side of the screen...also, it should be on the 1st bios screen in the lower right hand corner....you really need to be using either 16.b03 or 16.b04 beta bios.

What seems to be the best bios for a Q6600?
At the 2.8 oc what should I be able to set the CPU voltage at? I know it all varies but what should I be able to do it at?
How should I have my memory set? 1:1 or what do you recommend?

What is a good temp for memory to be at?
Memoy temp is subjective, just use the hand method, if the dimm's burn your hand almost, your more than likely pushing them too hard, also a battery of memory test will help you firgure out a safe limit. Generally with ddr2 anything over 2.2v is going to reduce the memorys usuable lifespan, some dont care and pump more in, whatever floats your boat. A good ratio is 1:1, 5:6, or 4:5 is also good, those chips should be able to hit 1000mhz pretty easy with 2.125v or less@ 400fsb, or you can up your FSB and run them 1:1, just play around till you find what works best.

Try to get good airflow to the memory though, from a fan blowing in from the side, or you could pick up the OCZ memory cooler, it works pretty nice, and looks good to boot, corsair makes one aswell
