Hi,

my Temperatures of Southbridge and Northbridge are a bit hi, i think.

Q6600/G0@3.4GHz@1.39_vC@1.47_NB@1.05_SB@428x8

Power/Idle Temp

NB: 65/54°C
SB: 54/50°C

is that ok or to hot? im using SE variant without watercooling, but i blow with 2x 60mm Fan's to the Headsink.

Does anyone know, how are the thermal specifikation from intel for north-/southbridge?

That is very high... My NB temps never used to go above 45c even on the Fusion Block edition of the board.

Unless you're running your system in a really hot room, that's EXTREMELY hot........I would check your case cooling or something.....doesn't really seem right. I don't think my temps would be that hot if I pointed my heater directly at my intake fans....

Hi,

wrong post of Value.

NB: 55/54°C
SB: 54/50°C

this temps are while my ambient temp in case are 42°C. at moment i have deinstalled all casefans. (build a new enviroment)

now i have found in the X38 chipset information a bit about the thermal specification. highest working temperature are 85°C, but the MCH works up to 92°C without a failure. Reboot's are strictly needed under "catastrophal condition" (without hardware damage of MCH) at 105°C.

Die or IHS temperatures ? How is the temp measured by the board ? W/o knowing that the info is pretty much worthless..

Yes, found the specs here. That's most definately not where ASUS placed the NB temp sensor :P Does anyone know where it is ?

hehe, ASUS cut the IHS, put his Sensor on the Die (with UHU) and put the IHS on the MCH again. Now, this is the reason how expansive the maximus is. :-)
