now thatīs weird. By bypassing that resistor, it should just rise the voltage a bit, but I donīt think that it would cause the regulator(s) to "hum" or "buzz".
Maybe if the "undoing" the mod made the "humm/buzz" sound(s) go away, there must be somthing related in those sound(s) and bypassing that resistor....sound pretty odd to me. The sound(s) are now gone when you undid that mod, arenīt they?

Faulty board? Something broken?

Oh one thing that I know for sure can make those "humming/buzzing" sounds are inductors. But they are all ferrite core ones, can they "humm/buzz"? Havenīt thought about that. (blah rather obvious they can...)
