What do you feel the cpu voltage should be set at for 2.8 oc.

As of bios 14 it is very hard for even highly binned D9s to work over 560MHz.
This is confirmed also by Transcend where their 1200MHz Axe Ram cannot work
at whatever voltages. Transcend is close with Abit engineers to solve that.
That is why bios16 will be out among other issues to be compatible with most modules.
The only memory that is working at 600 MHz is a-data extreme 1000+.

Sorry, I have the Q6600. I have it to 2.8 right now but I must have the voltage at 1.325 to get it to work. Anything less and it resets itself. I have the crucial ballistix w/4Gb. Does this voltage sound right?
I finally found out why I could not even attempt to oc. I had read earlier about a person that was using a corsair 620 and he changed out the power cord. I changed out the power cord and I can now oc. Does anyone know why this is???????

Anyone tested a wolfdale with this board yet, I am curious to see what a max FSB might be.

I seem to run into an annoying problem. My CPU fan speed is stuck at its highest power or voltage. I can't control it with uGuru or the BIOS. One way to fix it is to clear the BIOS. Is there any other way to fix it? (will changing the fan header work?)

My FSB is also not reported in the uGuru display with the latest version that I am using. (3.107)

i had cpuz freeze my desktop when i had uguru and cpuz active in windows desktop...i don't remember if coretemp freezed me out on the Pro board...i am about ready to return to the Pro board...i am not a fan of the DFI methodology for their bios...it sucks in my honest opinion!

you should get to about 350 fsb on default vcore or a slight increase (that's on a good chip)...BUT...if you are using four 1gig sticks, that will make it more difficult.

MCH, ICHIO 1.5 and Vdimm all play important roles besides vcore.

change it to AUX 1 or 2 fan header...they will work correctly...the 4 pin fan header for the cpu was really designed for Intel's cpu fan...it has a dickens of a time controlling the fan speed for a 3 pin plug when the bios takes a burp....the DFI X38 is that way and worse...totally non-working (fan speed control that is) with a 3 pin fan plug.

Why does having 4gb affect it and how? What would you recommend?
Why would a stinking power cord make a difference?

filling all four slots will hinder higher fsb clocks...it is that way...probably due to the latency required to talk to all four sticks in coordination with hard drive, cpu and its L2 cache...just think of it as running between four classrooms to tell the students the same thing or deliver slightly different data to them...it's going to be hard to keep up the pace!

So by getting rid of the 4 sticks and using 2 -2gb for 4gb would work better?
Here are my voltages that were in uguru
    MCH 1.26
    ICH 1.07
    ICHIO 1.52
    CPU 1.3325
    DDR2 2.2
    CPU VTT 1.21

The DDR2 is running at 748. My ram is running a little warm at about 49-50c.

If it will work a lot better with only 2 sticks would someone be so kind as to recommend the best 2gb sticks for this board. Thanks a bunch.

The best 2G experience I have had is with G.Skill HK's:

    G.SKILL F2-CL4D- 2GBHK6400SR2GK - 4-4-3-5,2T

    @ v2.1 1000 or 500 - 4-4-4-12
    @ v2.3 1100 or 550 - 5-5-5-18

    v2.3 is my limit.

    I can recommend two sets:
    G.Skill F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK running 4-4-3-5 1T @ 420(840) 2.3V
    or
    A-DATA DDR2-800 Vitesta Extreme running 5-5-4-15 2T @ 564(1128) 2.3V.

I have them in my two sets and the A-DATA is low priced. You canīt go wrong with either of these.

    I have my CPU at 3.6 vcore set at 1.3950. And have my memory timming at 5-4-4-11 running at DDR2 980 with a 1:1.2 memory/CPU ratio. I have 4 x 1 GB of Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800.

I guess this is good enough for me!!!

What temps are you running with these voltages? How fast is your cpu fan running? and your other fans? I don't like noise.

You have 4 sticks? Did you use only one when you oc?
I wonder if it is my psu that is causing my problems? I switched cords and that solved some of the problems but not all.

first try increasing your MCH to around 1.5v range and the ICHIO 1.5 to about 1.7v range
