See what all the people spending money on Baracuda did? This is a Moded X-Fi Elite Pro. Regular Newegg users get a product code and get to save $100 making the total price $139 for the Cans and the Card. I just bought cans and I can't use my I/O Drive or I'd be on it.

    Hardware-accelerated game sound plus X-RAM
    Brand Creative
    Model 53SB000003000
    Audio core
    Audio Chipset X-Fi
    Channels 7.1
    Sample Rate 192KHz
    Digital Audio 24-bit
    SNR 116dB

This actually looks promising coming from a quality headphone company.

    The price is ridiculous though.

That's the Beyer DT770 Pro which has been modded with a separate mic. Usually around $200 but you can find barely used pairs around $120 shipped at head-fi. That's where I've purchased my SR225's and Gilmore Lite headphone amp for ridiculously low prices. My amp still has warranty on it and the SR225's were just a month old.

Lots of other fantastic options out there for gaming BTW. If you do decide on the DT770's make sure to get the Pro 80ohm version unless you have a headphone amp. The 250ohm version will require one and is also more expensive. Sound quality is nearly the same.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Don't know if that is such a great deal or not. I got my Beyer DT770 Pro 80's for a little over $150 shipped. These were NiB BTW, not used.

I loved the mic mod on the DT770's

For those that have PM'ed me .....

The MMX 300 are the ones that follow

    http://www.beyerdynamic.de/cms/Gamin...ctdatabase_pi1[showUid][showUID]=2109&tx_sbproductdatabase_pi1[showUid][backPID]=2028&cHash=cd1211973d

Donnie not everyone is great at taking apart a lighter , breaking apart a mic and then making a custom clamp to attach a mic to a pair of headphones and using that daily as a headset.

I cannot say that these are great because no one else has them, I am going on reputation alone .... As soon as I get them I wil post. But when talking to the US Consumer and Aviation Sales Manager he told me to let my friends know that until the end of the holidays he will offer them the same price that was offered to me for basically harrassing him for 4 months. This is directly from beyer not through me at all. I just have to give you some of my personal information and thats why I don't want to post it in the thread.

For the record, I can't perform that Mod either, I just said it was nice. Thank you very much for the great info. There are very nice inexpensive NC Desktop Boom MIC's as well.

At a lan party in Dallas, I saw one guy with what use to be a Snake Light, was now a MIC. It was stuck on the EAR Piece of a set of a set of AKG's with a very simple Velcro strip. Actually looked neat.

I agree, Beyerdynamics has a very good rep. The MIC is the only thing I'm curious about, I love my cans.

It's got USB plug? USB to mini or mini to USB...looking forward to your impressions 2000army! I've already got a little PIMETA, so I don't really need the amp w/ the Headzone game model.

    MMX 300

    USB Converter:
    Connection PC/MAC.......................1 x USB Type A(M)
    Cable length.................................1.5 m
    Audio connections.........................2 x 3.5 mm stereo jacks
    Operating systems.........................Windows®, MAC
    Dimensions l x w x h.......................76 x 30 x 16 mm
    Weight incl. cable..........................45 g

I'd rather connect them straight to a Prelude or an Elite Pro. Even the X-FI Xtreme Music or Gamer crushes USB sound wise. That is unless you have expensive Hi-Fi USB/DACs LOL!

I remember there was a another 12" Goose Neck mic that was meant to stick on a CFT. In the old days, guys stuck these to the side of their cans for less restricted movement.

I cannot give them a proper review yet because I am using them on my laptop. Vista recognized the USB immediately and installed it. Unbelievable sound compared to my turtle Beach HPA's 5.1 painful POS.

These are extremely comfortable and LOUD and Sexxxy.

    Proper Review pending...
