i use everest for temps
usind an older type 60mm fan cause its thin but i bought a stronger 60mm fan for the nb and 2 40mm fans for pwm
ps i had to adjust the heatpipe on nb heatsink to make room for the fan it does bend easily but better when its off the board
on a special note i got my 2 xtra bios chips workin good even flashed 1 to test if its good not bad for 8$ a chip![]()
![]()
just gotta remember to clear cmos after installin a new chip lol
runin on spare bios chip now i'm ready for those beta bioses
thank you Eva2000 for your memory tweaks

so far does anyone watercooled the northbridge? got any nb block that suitable for this board?
i did some experimenting and added an aluminium fin to pwm heatsink screwed into pwm heatsink ,result was 8c+as soon as i took it of temp was back to normal
i guess dfi guys designed heatsink right sukin the heat away from pwm
i added a fan in back of backplate blowin fresh air on pwm heatsink n no change in tempi guess 33c is as low as its gonna get

are you overclocking?...how about updating your signature with your latest specs.
tell us your memory settings and voltages along with your cpu overclock, NB, SB and cpu vtt bios settings.

you can raise the SB voltage along with NB voltage to see if that has an impact...the SB will definitely affect Raid and the Intel controller along with CD drives.
second, i would do, if the voltage increase didn't help, is change out sata cables to make sure that one or both are not malfunctioning....same for the cd drive.

i raised the sb to the 3rd notch its 1.9xxV i think that fixed it hopefully
and dont buy micron revE 4gb kits they are terrible and going back to frys

First overclocking tests with my board and my Q6600:
CPU Vcore @stock
CPU VTT: 1,3V
VCore NB: 1,35V (Bios Setting)
CPU cooled by 2 Utrasilent 800RPM fans - NB cooled by a 60mm fan, PWM area not cooled.

hi aehmkei, nice result for stock Vcpu. How is the TR IFX performing on that quad? When you run Prime, can you show also Coretemp please?
btw, where did you get your board? I have a hard time finding one in DE ... thanks

Hipro5
"Overclock till death. Overclocking is life." Hipro5
I got one board from the first shipment at 07.12.07 from HPM-Computer.
Next X38 Shipment from DFI to Europe should be first or second week in january.
With 3,2Ghz Coretemp shows with Prime running
56°,56°,50°,56°
CPU and the IFX14 are lapped.
I'm thinking about changing the 800upm fans against 1200upm fans, but 56° are not too bad, considering an ultrasilent setup.
Still PWM and NB temps seem to be very high, no clue why.

how abt a fan blowing the pwm area? btw the nb fan fit any 80mm fan?
i have a 60mm on the back of my I/O panel (on the outside) that is velcroed there and pushes fresh air in over the PWM, regardless i still have high PWM temps from my high volts + quad core. everest reads PWM @ 45C right now

Nobody with some info on how high i can set the nb and vtt voltage ?
It seems that i need to set the nb voltage pretty high to clock my E2180 i'm at 1,5v right now to get 310 x 10 with less only 305 x 10 is possible...
Apart from this, anyone a good hint on which watercooler i should get for nb ?
Will the MCW60 fit ? Need something with good flow since my gfx is in the same loop aswell, maybe i will cool pwm too.
Q6600 @ 450x8. Good 24/7 voltages. Nothing stressed or pushed. Memory can be run faster or with tighter timings at the expense of increased voltages.
Two screenshots of Prime, one running and one stopped. Only way to show the 8x multiplier as C1E is enabled.

Cant believe but I just ordered the boardhope they send it to me soon and then I'll reply with my results.
HF guy's![]()
does this board has any vdrop problem?
Is this board going to be compatible with the Yorkfields and Wolfdales, with their .5 multipliers?
And why does it seem like everyone is using the multiplier of 8 when benching with a cpu capable of 9 multiplier? I know to get higher fsb, but I was able to do 450x9 with a e6850(was a loaner, waiting for another q6600), which gave me superior scores. My ram that I used wasn't the best so I didn't do to great with a divider without having to loosen timings.
