Not a chance in hell for 2GB of GDDR5. IF they even go over 1GB, they will go 1.5 or 1.25 GB. And it will probably be GDDR4, because GDDR5 is such a new tech that it's probably too expensive to use.

crysis uses close to 950mb or vRAM with that ultra quality graphics mod with dx9. if one was to MAX out crysis in dx10 with 16xAA, thats GG for any oced 3 or 4 card set up available today. they specs shown to be in the G100 will most likely allow 50FPS MAXED OUT crysis game play.

I tried Crysis on Very High @ 1920x1200 and it doesen't get over 550megs of vram after ~half an hour,what you see with the r_displayinfo command in the console is your PC ram not vram....

Try turning on AA if you are not seeing ram usage. Also light shafts, etc.

Wrong, If you manually config Rivatuner You can see VRAM just fine. Really depends on the drivers tho. what set the person uses.

Also I ran 720p with 16xQ AA, and my RAM Usage on my system ram didn't even spike.

PS. I want it (9800gtx) to have my babies if thats true.

whatever the specs are I want one, I am gonna wait until all these new cards are out for at least one month before I buy anything though. So many rumors, the GX2 and this and who knows what else. And maybe ATI will bring a monster out to play as well??? Either way I cannot wait for something new. Had my 8800GTX going on a year now and its has been great but I want to play Crysis with some higher settings...

Ok,here is the Vram usage on rivatuner.
The r_displayinfo shows the system Ram as I said above.
So settings:Sound very High,sunshafts/parallax etc.. very high/ultra etc...(since thre is no ultra mode launched by crysis ,only new .cfg) 1920x1200/16XAF Very High Quality in drvers.
~500Vram after ~10 minutes killing some koreans,blowing some stuff up etc..
Plyed the whole game with riva and I never saw even close to 1Gb Vram used but if you have any specific place you would like for me to test tell me.

Try the level right before the aliens when the mountain is starting to crumble. IIRC thats where I saw the massive VRAM usage. There is also a config option that changes how shaders are cached. I might have had that enabled.

In the Config file i made, I was able to set the max vram usage to 768 (aka 8800GTX/Ultra memory size)

I haven't tested how much it uses. But DX10 doesn't use that much Vram, just so you guys know.

No,I have a 8800GT but it doesen't matter atleast with this config since I don't think I am capped @ 512MB....
I had a X1950PRO before and I was getting the same results but the FPS was very low ~3-5FPS.
