Yeah, I thought there were psb failure problems above 2.2v with the D9's.

I burned out one set of 8500 tracers using only 2.2v... so I would recommend using an 80mm fan blowing on them if you can, at minimum.

isn't the burnout a result of voltage on the pcb, not heat?

Really? Something doesn't seem right. They are rated at 2.2v by Crucial...it doesn't stand to reason that the recommended voltage by the manufacturer would burn them out.

well the probleme with these sticks seems they will die even with volts lower then rated.

I got a pair of PC6400 and PC8500 tracers here just hope they will last me untill DDR3 lol, because they clock so nice:X

Hey you guys, I have a concern regarding my DDR2 8500 Ballistix Tracers and my Abit IP35-Pro. Whenever I start up my pc and it POSTs, there are always little red dots on the screen like so. If I set my CPU and RAM to run at default speeds, there seem to be a lot more than when I have my CPU overclocked and RAM timings adjusted. I have tried both the current IP35-Pro BIOS as well as a Beta version, and they both seem to be doing the same thing.

CPU and RAM at default settings:

Looks like a vga prob to me. I'd check the dvi plug to see if it is connected properly to the video card.

everything seems to be connected fine and properly. i wonder why the dot count would change when my CPU/RAM frequency settings change.

I just ordered 4gb set of these. I see people are running them below rated voltage which I would love to do. Does anyone have an OCing "guide" for these or suggestions on how to proceed?

I've yet to tweak my sticks yet....I'm running DDR2-1031 5-5-5-15......I'm struggling to get them to the clocks I had with my P35 board, as this Maximus is has some major strap/divider instability issues...
You guys sure aren't scared to run some crazy voltage through your modules! Are you guys water cooling the sticks, or air?
I have the XTC cooler on mine.....but still.....
I'm running 4Gb also, which may limit me. So far I'm at around 9050 Mb/s for read, and ~8500 write.......could be better.

My sticks will do 600 MHz 5-5-4-9 with 2,22V... Does that seems normal? Anything below will shoot me errors with memtest ...

Well I did find something interesting... My sticks required 2,21-2,22V to acheive 600MHz with 5-5-4-9, so I was a bit unpleased with these results since most of the people could do 5-5-5-15 with 2-2,1V...

Well I tried something tonight: Try Memtest with 5-5-5-15 and see if I will get any differences...

And I got an impressive result: I dropped my voltage to 2,14V and launched Memtest and guess what... I got 250% MemTest without any errors! I'll try tomorrow with even less voltage but I am very impressed by the fact that relaxing a little bit the timings give me 0,7V less required...

    Anyone noticed the same thing?
