froste, what fsb have you reached with the q6600 on this board?

good news, i can run my g.skill at 550mhz 5-4-4-12 (2.2v) max on the x38 was 533-540 at 5-5-5-15........ram latency seems to be kind of high, higher than the x38 thats for sure, but bandwidth seems the same.

guru3d has some tests with QX9650 and 680i there lol![]()
Anyone running one of these boards upside down? I might get one to play with over the holidays, but it would have to go in my Lian-Li inverted.

I just found this board over at NCIX for 80.00 cheaper than newegg has it. It's a good deal and I just couldn't pass it up, as I plan on putting it to the test over the holidays.
Thanks for the reply, scarface.

Update:
I installed XP 32 bit and brought out my good G.Skill kit I have. Got up to 469 FSB bench stable with memory at 1154 MHz @ 4-4-4-5. Fedex should be here with my 9650 soon, will post results later.
Scored a little higher.

so the FSB issue i was having is only between a certain fsb, from 1650-1775
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
I will just be happy with 3.6-3.8 with my E6750......![]()
Now I just have to figure out how to get it there. The memory dividers on this generation of CPUs/mobos confuse the sheeeeeeeeehite out of me.
My last rig was an Athlon64 3200+ @ 2.8Ghz. That was an easy o/c, these numbers, not so much.
EDIT: Im thinking I should keep it @ 1:1 and just tighten the timings down @ 450/475....??????
The fsb 480-475mhz is about as high as these boards can OC w top end stability so far.
Tech Report review OC'd fsb 480mhz rather easily but they couldn't tweak the fsb to go higher.
Legitreviews OC fsb 475mhz
So far in this thread 480-470mhz fsb range is top end. I was hoping for solid average FSB 500 from 780i boards. Did not 680i's fsb hit 500mhz and over range?
I'm in process of shopping for a new Intel 45nm build. I'm leaning towards Asus P5k Deluxe P35 Wi/fiAP DDR2, from all the reviews I've read they seem to overclock very well and stable up to fsb 500mhz.
On the down side, I won't get SLIonly crossfire which I'm not a favorite of.
Big difference if you're talking dual or quad. So far these early reports suggest the 780i clocks quad fsb as well as P35/X38, which was not the case with 680i.

I do believe I saw somewhere (Chinese review) where they did comment 780i lackluster dual core OCing compared to X38/P35, but OC'd equally w quads in comparison to X38/P35 chipset.
It be interesting if someone had dual core e6750 or e6850 pop in and see how high they OC fsb on these boards.
