My system mem speed is 1080 with the latest F7H bios 5 6 6 18
and I guess I could do more if my memory were identical. Right now they are 2x1G ADATA Extreme Edition 800+ and 2x1G Team Group Extreme 800. I'll wait and see maybe I'll get one 2x2G 4 4.. at 1066, but right now they are too expensive here ... about 1000$

    DS4 dosen't have 12 phase, it has 6 phase...which is why it's cheaper.

S1 - Power to the CPU and RAM is maintained
S3- Only power to the RAM is mainained ...
S3 is good if you have an UPS, or windows vista which saves Mem data to the HDD before entering S3 (combination beetwen hibernation and S3)

Based upon the PDF manual for the X38-DS4...it appears the bios flash parts have been changed to a Winbond 25X80 part. What does this mean in practice?

I got that, it uses less power...any other differences?, perhaps speed etc. in terms of how fast the system resumes?

Hmm..the Winbond flash looks as if it'll be much faster at flashing bios then before.
