    Hi guys..
I took this mobo yesterday on my hands and iam facing some problems..
First of all ,the mobo dont start with 2 sticks of ram (SUPERTALENT W1600UX2GP PROJECTX 2GB (2X1GB)) ..i quess the one stick is bad couse i tried all possible combinations..or its another Asus Ram sensitivity..

Other thing is that if i change the Vdimm to something else than auto ...then cannot load win...Overclocking failed ,run F1 bla bla.. ..the stick that works manage to run in 1600MHz but always in auto Vdimm..

.. and when i try to load the X.M.P option in bios (look jpg )...freeze...must reset..i was hoping that maybe that option would give me maybe the possibility to run my 2 sticks of ram..since this supertalent support the XMP...
Does this XMP option work on your systems..???

Bios is the 0804 and i own the non Wifi Deluxe..

    Hi Guys,
I have flashed 0804 today and had a lot of troubles. Setting MEM voltage to any position except of AUTO does not allow system to boot. Using MEM AUTO voltage is unstable with my Corsair 1800C7DF. Older BIOS revisions could NOT be flashed with EZ-FLASH, ASUS UPDATE or bootable flash drive with afudos.
    Any ideas?

Try the BIOS 0704, or 0601 and don`t set AUTO, use fixed memoryvoltage, fixed NB, and fixed 1.4V FSB voltage!

I'm having lots of problems with my P5E3 to
I just cannot get it to run at it's rated RAM speed or anywhere near it's rated RAM Speed with 4 sticks or even 2 sticks.
1600Mhz FSB is really unstable, I've even lowered the multiplier on my CPU to 6 (it's a 45nm Yorkfield) yet still it is unstable @ 1600Mhz FSB with 4 sticks.
I had to set the speed to 1066Mhz for 4 sticks and 1333Mhz for 2 sticks.
If any of you guys could have a look in my thread here I'd be greatly apreciated.
Just by reading this thread it looks like a lot of you are having problems with P5E3 based boards, will I ever get my PC Stable with 4 sticks @ 1600Mhz?!?

    Thanks Malkiewicz
    That was a good read
I tried a few of their suggestions, but still no luck
I'm stuck with 4 sticks @ 1066Mhz or 2 sticks @ 1333Mhz and it gets worse, Patriot technical support said this.

Is your 4x1GB (2 2x1GB kits) the 1600LLK? If so, the P5E3 and P5K3 boards only support above 1333MHz on the 2 black slots on the boards. The other 2 slots (the orange ones) only support 1333MHz and below….
Is there any truth to this claim, or is the tehcnical support person palming the problem onto the motherboard?

I read the ASUS Manual and have not found any mention of this.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    John

I've been wondering this myself. Generally when you populate ram slots, you are supposed to do it channel by channel, starting with the slot closest to the CPU. In the P5E3 Deluxe Wifi Manual on page 2-13 they state specifically otherwise. The have you populate the black slots first.

I've always heard the first two slots get the most speed, so it would be easier to clock them higher. I would be pretty surprised if the orange slots couldn't even DO a higher speed AT ALL though. The thing with these enthusiast boards... no one seems to be a real expert, so who can we even ask? Maybe that anandtech guy. :/

    Thanks Solidus667
I noticed that to, it is odd as usually the primary memory slot is the one closest to the CPU, but I just rechecked my P5E3 manual and yes you are absolutely spot on, the A2 and B2 are recommended to be populated first (strange?)

By the way it gets worse, this is what technical support are saying now

we have that motherboard in the back and i check with them and they say that you will only be able to run 1333MHZ or lower when you have all 4 sticks installed you will only be able to run 1600MHZ in the black slots with 2 memoires only. i can see if he can provide me with the timings and i can post it here for you guys to try it out to see if you will be able to run the memoires at 1600MHZ.
    Looks like I am doomed

Thing is I can't even get 1333Mhz stable (native Bus speed of my processor (QX9650)) and 1066Mhz is only stable if I up the DRAM voltage!

    Crazy?

It's almost as if I have been sent 1066 modules in 1600Mhz clothing

It is common to have poor overclocking results when all slots are populated. But you should get the rated speeds with the rated voltage at least! Maybe there is a problem with your ram?

I'm having the exact same problem with my Corsair 1600C7 RAM. Anything but auto and I get the 'Overclocking Failed' message. Worked fine on 504. But I did have some random instability on 504 that I haven't figured out what is the source. Thought it was due to overclocking the QX9650, but even at lower settings, I would randomly wake to a crashed computer.

I tryed the 804! Sucks! I rebooted with Default Settings, deleted from the pendrive the 804, write out the 704 and flashed it, with the EZ Flash! It`s OK for me.

Ez flash keeps telling me this:

"VERSION in ROM file is older than existing board!"

Have tried 0601, 0504, 0503 and same stuff

Can you upload 704 me so that i can try it?

Not sure what Patriot is trying to achieve by saying that (maybe an excuse for their crap memory??) but I can tell you guys that I have a system with this motherboard and 4 x CellShock PC3-14400 1800MHz running fine at its rated speed. Of course CPU is oveclocked but that is nothing to write home about as my CPU is not the best...
