That's about as high as I would go for 24/7. As long as you can keep it cool. Ideally you would be looking for more like 1.60 - 1.65V.

I haven't done any type of comparisons yet. Just now finishing up finding what it likes for clock crossings at differed speeds.

Number One what makes you think after having a board all of what 1 week that they can compare it to a extensively well archived database such as the D.F.I P35 C'mon man don't you think you are being a tad unrealistic as there are what maybe 8-10 people on this forum that actually have the board and for all of maybe 4-5 days now.

With added cache and lower multipliers Intel has brought back the phrase "you get what you pay for."
QFT. The qx9650 will run at 10x400 practically on stock settings (using Maximus Extreme), just plug and play. But, 9x450 requires a lot of extra chipset voltage and tuning. 460 fsb is the most I've got OCCT stable at acceptable 24x7 voltages, and that seems to be fairly normal. At least I'm not seeing anyone on air or water running yorkfield stress test stable at 475 -500 mhz fsb. Bottom line, unless we see a change in the way the motherboards perform (like the way the P35 opened up higher fsb for Kentsfield), 4 ghz is not going to be the norm with the low multis on the more affordable yorkies.

Ok fair enough, but it can be sad whether or not your getting similar results on this mobo Vs the P35. I see some ppl are getting similar and others crapping out.

    So what is it?

Also if i had both boards, in one week of play time .. i could tell you the difference.

stfu Notro, this isn't a about DFI thread. It's an information thread. you've been nothing but impolite and impatient.

if you want so many details buy the board yourself

It'd be a half-ass compare. One weeks time would be nowhere near enough to explore the optimal configurations of both boards. Unless you plan on skipping Clock Crossing, Phase Delay and GTL settings which are the strength of these boards.

THANK YOU sofarfrome for that article...after reading it and interpolating the bios settings, i was able to tweak my Q6600 'G0' to 3960 mhz...it was a freaking battle but i was finally able to wPrime 1024M bench successfully...this board is TO MUCH WORK!...i'm exhausted!

here is a snippet of my accomplishment...i can NOW say it is equal in overclock to the IP35 Pro...i'll do a few more tweak testing to pump the memory and performance and then on to benches, although the Pro bench was not as fast in time as this board...that's GOOD news!

ok, so I guess prime 95 is messed up in vista x64 because I am prime stable with w-prime, 0 errors this means that i can start reaching for some higher clocks. I think you guys will be surprised by my NB volts. RAM timings are 5-4-4-12.

should have the board in later this week, ordered to replace my p5w dh (which now has 3 dead sata ports and a few dead usb). I suspect I should get a decent improvement with my quad as the p5w never did much with quads. Is anyone watercooling the nb on this board and if so which block are they using and is it of any benefit?

Cool, so then with some bios updates we may realize some improvement over the P35. I was torn between the P35 and X38 versions. Frankly, if there was a P35 with DDR3 I would have gone with that one. But I am sure the X38 with DDR2 will keep me busy for a few months.

Nothing loads a quad-core like Prime95 does. If it's failing it's most likely for real. With that said Prime isn't really necessary for 24/7 use. None of these boards from any manufacturer are designed to continuously run Prime when pushing quad-cores. It is very hard on the board. They will die. The only screenshots I have with identical configurations are from the P35 however they do show that 64 Bit Prime will pass if a person has to have that for peace of mind. All three operating systems required a different amount of VCORE to pass. The screenshots were taken with Prime running so the multiplier and voltage showed correctly. I always use C1E.
