Valid Question!
The answer is SLI. Plain and simple.
I do not want to use an nForce Chipset ever again (I did once on an Intel+SLI setup). So, i do not want to use ATi cards with Crossfire and i do not want to use an nVidia Chipset (which doesn't support ASPI for instance, something i need).
I want to use an INTEL chipset with an nVidia SLI setup! And Skulltrail delivers just that. I guess there won't be any drivers needed for the nVidia bridge chips there, just as it is with PCI-2-PCI bridge chips too. I could live with those chips, as long as i can use pure Intel chipset drivers.
One Quadcore is enough for me i suppose. Besides gaming i also do a lot of DivX compression and Video Post-Processing. SSE4 should help a lot on the DivX front. Don't think I'll need eight cores. But if the right socket is the primary one, i wouldn't be able to use that board at all, cause my harddisks would be in the way (Don't really wanna change the case either).
