    That's done.

Also trick to get generic nvidia drivers work with new 8800GTS 512 posted.

    I'm now to overclocking.
The only tool that works is Expert Tool from Gainward - http://www.gainward.net/support/XPRT_59.zip

I can see that bios has a maximum core voltage set to 1.15v which
    is 0.05v higher then 8800GT.

I'm trying to find max stable OC, without changing fan speed, on stock Voltage.

Next I'll try to crank up V and see what's the gain.

    ps. the fan is quiet

If you have a GT, how about benchmarking them both in crysis and comparing results?

only benchmark atm is on tweaktown and doesn't seem legit.

Sorry mate, but don't have any other card then 8800GTS.

Regarding the high res pic without cooler, sorry mate but the card is on sale (ebay) and I'm offering it with guarantee so can't take it off.

That GTS512mb cooling looks just unbelievable ugly. It looks like something they digged up back from WWO2 or something. Wouldn't be a problem for me since i would watercool it, but most ppl dont, so it would have been better to have a nice spectacular cooling solution.

the thing is. most people don't care what the card looks like only how it performs. some people LIKE the way it looks, alot. but most importantly the cooler is WAY better than previous nvidia coolers. especially the one on the GT. check out the link i posted above. has 3 pipes and better fan. the asus TOP is clocked at 740 core. people will be overclocking these cards to well high amounts because of 65nm process and THIS cooler. surely you can forgive its ugliness?

The Firing Squad did this review The extra RAM doesn't make a difference except at very high in Oblivion and Crysis at 2560x1600.
