After removing the heatpipe thing from the maximus board, the northbridge has an IHS. Anyone removed it?

I can smell something bad about to happen

Edit 1: There are trace wires running close to the edge of the heat sink; you're definitely going to hurt something.

Edit 2: But since this XS, why don't you try pulling on the fusion block after a few hours of orthos, small ffts, and allowing the board to cool.

Well I see one some pictures that people has a "naked" northbridge without the IHS. I´m tired of my 53c load on NB with the IFX cooler from thermaltake.
So I´m thinking of removing the IHS now

i've seen the ihs removed yes

only problem is that the northbridge was also attached to it

    i think it's a risky proposition

if I run 1.5 it's not stable... I haven't been running 4.4Ghz lately because the motherboard gets hot even with a wall of fans over it. I will go back to 4.4Ghz when I put water on everything.
